Statement Of Purpose To Be Part Of Omega Psi Phi

While growing up in the inner city, it seemed like every day was a fight for survival. It is difficult for me to recall any happy memories; however if I have learned one thing while being on the streets of Paterson, New Jersey, it is that friendship is essential to the soul. It is sad to see my brothers and sisters being killed in the streets over ignorance and smart minded people wasting their talent and succumbed to the drug infested streets. Being alone, it hard to change mindsets of others; however being in a group with such strong role models and caring for life are an unbelievable sight. I want to be part of Omega Psi Phi because I want to be a role model to children who no matter what their living conditions consist of, they are able
to become successful and live prosperous. Omega Psi Phi is the most dominate fraternity established and their communication (network) is unlike any other. “A man is only as good as his tools” by Emmert Wolf suggests that when given the necessary availabilities, one should not fail; especially if those tools are in good condition. I know without a doubt that Omega Psi Phi fraternity will continue to uplift the community and its citizens to become greater than them and invest there lives. I believe that I can become a changed man, especially not having positive male role models in my life, that shouldn’t mean the next generation shouldn’t have any.
