Stella Mccartney was born in Lambeth, London on September 13th in 1971. She was the second child of former Beatle bassist Sir Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman. At the age of thirteen, she became interested in designing clothes, when she was making her first jacket. Only three years later, she interned for Christian Lacroix, working on his first fashion design collection.
When she finished high school, she studied her foundation at Revensbourne College of Design and Communication, fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in the early 1990s. At her graduation in 1995, she had to show her collection. Friend and supermodels Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss modeled the collection, for free. This show made front-page news, and the whole collection was sold to Tokio, a London boutique.

In 2007 Stella designed also a Gym Yoga spring/summer collection that was inspired by ballet and dance uniforms. Stella’s favorite pieces in the collection come with a special reflector keychain. First the keychain was in the shape of a pink heart and later it was in the shape of a gray wolf’s head. Her Adidas contract was extended until 2010.

The line was released in November of that year and sold out almost immediately on launch day.
In January 2008, McCartney’s collaboration with lingerie label Bendon was scheduled to be released to department stores, specialty stores and Stella McCartney stores.
She was also scheduled to release a line of handbags for LeSportsac. This collection was a great success.
Style and collections
Stella is just like her parent a vegetarian. She is really against fur and leather. You will never see it in her collections. Her collections are easy wearable and at the same time directional. McCartney’s line blends sweet element like pastel silks and ribbons with street-worthy rocker accents, like industrial zippers. All clothes are animal-free, including the shoes, which are outfitted from a leather-like plant
derivative.
