“Swear to me. Swear to me that if it isn't dead, you'll all come back,” Billy says to the other kids in the movie IT (Lieberher). An unknown character is taunting and mentally tourtering the kids and town of Derry. In the movie IT, based on the novel by Stephen King, the kids are characterized as the heros because they save the day. When Bill’s little brother named Georgie was taken by IT, Bill was brave and determined to find him. Billy is characterized as intelligent through his speech, actions, and looks.

Stephen King does a tremendous job in illustrating how important Georgie really is to Bill through his actions. He demonstrates heroic actions by never giving up on the thought to find his brother and the other missing children. Billy contains himself and his actions when things get out of hand. For example when he found out other kids were starting to have wild dreams and the same visions of some clown, he didn’t panic he stayed calm and came up with solution to figure it out. They then developed a plan to save Georgie and the others by putting the plan into action (Lieberher). Bills actions reflect on what kind of person he really is which is selfless. He puts himself along with the other kids all in danger to find his brother and defeat this awful clown. His bravery is mostly shown when they all come face to face with this dreadful figure. Not only does Bill tell everyone to leave and save themselves he encourages them to never come back. The movie takes place during the 90’s and so the clothes and music are what correlate to it. Bill’s look is a nerdy school boy with a skinny figure and short hair. Many see him as weak and easy to push around because of his size. Bill and the others see themselves as losers and nerds (Lieberher). Bills appearance consists of knee high shorts, a flannel or t-shirt, and old beat up sneakers with high socks. This was the style of clothes back in the 90’s (Lieberher). His looks are very deceiving in the way that they make him seem fragile and hesitant but he is a genius and witty. This is a good trait because he uses this to his advantage when he has to go against
