Dealing with a diseased tooth or teeth can be a cumbersome and equally painful experience. This is especially so, when the root canal gets infected. However there are various ways in the field of dentistry that the problem may be dealt with. The type of treatment administered to a patient is highly dictated by the extent of damage of the tooth and to a lesser extent, the preference of the patient. Before discussing the type of option to be explored, it is important to first shed some light on the anatomy of the tooth, especially the root canal. This is the soft part that lies under the enamel and is referred to as the pulp. Blood vessels, nerves and other tissues are contained in the pulp and are essential in the growth of the tooth. This part of the tooth can get infected and to react to this, various treatments can be administered.
The following are the options that can be considered in regard to root canal treatment.
Endodontic canal treatment options
