TDT1 Task 2

Purpose
The purpose of this essay is to detail the steps taken to create the graphics required for
TDT1 task 2. The first graphic is a picture taken of one of my 6th grade students and her completed set design project entitled: Land of Oz. This picture was taken by a student using their iPad and saved to her pic collage app. The student emailed a copy to me and I saved it as a JPEG file to my desktop.
I saved the picture in order to use it as an example for my next nine week class who would also be studying set design. In order to focus in on the project itself, I used iPhoto picture editor, zoomed into the project, cropped the picture so that it showed the project and not the student, and saved it to my desktop as a JPEG file. In order to teach the one of the first stages of the unit, color technique in set design, I edited the picture to a black and white version and saved it to my desktop using the JPEG format. This would allow students to envision their own color schemes and not initially be influenced by the colors the model project incorporated.
In order to understand the layout of the stage where their set design is intended for, I displayed an image of a stage I created using google draw. I also downloaded artwork from a disk sent to me from the company where we licensed the musical. This was saved and used as the original source of set design inspiration. Finally included in the collection was one of the first steps of the unit; a pencil drawing of the set design which was also created by a student. I scanned the document to my MacBook and saved it as a JPEG

I write this letter to completely reassure you that we are taking the concerns you brought up with the utmost seriousness that they deserve. As a matter of fact, we have investigated the matter the last couple of days to ascertain the facts and events of what happened in Ms. Paulson’s Computer Technology Class on Monday during the third period. There were 27 students present that day alongside Ms. Paulson, and we have conducted interviews with some of them individually in order to get to the bottom of this issue. While it is certain that it was one of the students who momentarily put the pictures in question on the projector, it is also without a doubt our goal to never have to expose our students to any such material; and the adults in our staff certainly are expected to uphold their responsibility of keeping a safe environment for every child under our care, be it from harm of a physical or mental nature.…
