Achievement is a objective everyone tries to accomplish. The major factor when it comes to success is failure. Recovering from failure will help you achieve your goals because it will improve and motivate a person to exceed. Success is built on failure. An example from the book Bounce, shows the development of Shaquille O'neal or Shaq.…

My academic goal is to complete all my assigments on time and push towards getting nothing less than a B so I can graduate with an associates degree in Allied Health Science within two years. I think my goal is clear, measurable and realistic. It 's clear because this is what I have to do to reach my goal and nothing is going to distract me. It 's measurable because as the weeks go by I can measure my grades by my performance in class. It is also realistic because this is a do-able goal I feel I can get good grades and graduate on time.…
I often wondered how people succeeded in balancing their personal lives and maintaining a career at the same time. “One has to take a backseat,” I thought. Through the years, I have come to realize that it is not necessarily the case. When I came here to this country to work, I got to meet many people who I have come to admire in their pursuit and success in living a well-balanced family and professional life. Then I said to myself, “It is not easy but very possible.”…

I think a personal philosophy of success should be a hope or dream to both people who want to achieve a dream in the future and to people who hasn’t achieved their dream in life. For instance, someone has many degrees of higher education; but has the need to want a higher degree; so his/her philosophy of success would be to get a senior degree. Another example would be someone who doesn’t have anything in life; but want to achieve a dream to make his/her life worthy; so his/her philosophy would be to earn a dream that he/she has been yearning. I would be one of those people who have a diploma; but want to achieve a superior degree. As I quote from Albert Einstein “The ideals which have lighted me on my way and time after time given me new courage to face life cheerfully, they have been Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. . . . The ordinary objects of human endeavor -- property, outward success, luxury -- have always seemed to me contemptible.” This quote makes me think of my background, where I came from, how far I’ve come, and looking back at all the people who have supported me in life. My personal philosophy of success would be to achieve my personal dream as a doctor. I have had the dream of one day becoming a doctor since the death of my grandparents and the people around me that are sick, dying, and in need of medical care. I always wanted to be the person who saves another life. I want to be an example for my peers, my children, and children peers. I want to be someone that both my generation and the generation that follows to respects, honor and follow not only in my footsteps; but in other honorable wonderful successful individuals who make something of themselves. I am strongly willing to bring forth my dream by preventing and stopping anything that comes in the direction of my path to success. For example: drugs, alcohol, and peer pressure. I think those three things will not prevent me from not achieving my goals if I wasn’t as strong as I am today. My most…
My personal philosophy of success is defined with three strategies I use for college success. To succeed in college you need to set yourself goals, and to help achieve those goals you need strategies. The strategies I will use for my personal philosophy of success are Setting Priorities, organization of materials, and DAPPS, Dated Achievable Personal Persistent and Specific. These strategies will help me through college by being more organized, neat, and well-ordered. Setting strategies to yourself will benefit to your college life not being unorganized. Also making goals for yourself can contribute in the long run to set future ones.…
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a familiar, yet complex, question that every child at some time or another has been asked. As a child, it is essentially simple to decide what to be; but as that child grows up his or her ideas and passions change. Passion is what drives people to further their education. Everyone has a dream about what their career might look like once they reach adulthood. It is ultimately what we decide to do with our life that determines how successful one can be. This takes a lot of hard work, curiosity, the ability to think critically, and the support of family and teachers. In the articles “Thinking Critically, Challenging Cultural Myths” by Gary Colombo, “The Achievement of Desire” by Richard Rodriguez, and “Learning Power: The Myth of Education and Empowerment” there are many different viewpoints about how to be successful and what education has to do with it. These articles demonstrate different perspectives about the subject of education. The fact remains that the amount of learning a student achieves is measured by the amount of curiosity and determination that is put into it, as well as, the perseverance to succeed.…

My Visionary self is usually the driving force of my ambitions for life, love, success, educational goals, and so on. I sometimes question whether this is a development of my own doing or has it been created by the interaction between others and myself. For instance my parents have been supportive and promising in all the decisions I make for myself. They have given me the ability to think for myself as well as my future. Although they allowed me to make most of my own decisions one thing my parents enforced and placed in my future was attending college.…
In recent discussions of the “Mindset” and “Think Differently”, a controversial issue has been raised. On one hand, Carol Dweck argues that working hard, challenging yourself and think positive, will help us succeed. On the other hand, Ken Robinson remind us that not all of us are great in academically, but are gifted in some other ways. My own view is that many people have different ways of approaching of how to become successful, whereas on the other hand, not everyone has the potential of becoming successful. I think that if we have the mindset of being positive, great personality, good aptitude and not taking anything for granted, we will succeed in life.…
Being a kid with a learning disability can be stressful and challenging in everyday school. I can understand the benefits of online schooling, because I experience what the students with learning disabilities go through on a daily basis. Online schooling benefits students that want to get done with schooling early, students with with learning disability, and some students that wanna be successful in life more. Students at Mona Shores would benefit more from online schooling than traditional schooling by catching up on work, learning at their own pace, and being able to graduate school early.…
Traditionally, society believes one must work hard in order to attain success, and through success one will achieve happiness. In a speech addressing the nation’s children, President Obama stressed that success is achieved through hard work and dedication. However, recent research in the field of positive psychology believes this principle is actually flawed and that happiness, in fact, fuels success. In his book, The Happiness Advantage, Shawn Achor discusses his work at Fortune 500 companies, such as American Express, KPMG and UBS, and Harvard University, where he spent 12 years studying how happiness improves one’s success rates (Achor, 2010). Achor believes in order to achieve success, one must first reach happiness. Through his research, Achor explains that if we can train ourselves to think more positivity and be happier, and then we can gain a competitive advantage to succeed at work and in life.…
All of us tend to look up to big people for lessons on how to get better. We are keen to learn the secrets of their success. But we forget that sometimes the biggest lessons in life come from the smallest folks around us. Now that’s a good lesson to remember!…
