Growing up I loved to wake up early on saturday and sunday mornings just to watch the morning cartoon shows. The very first anime that was a introduced to me was an anime called Yugioh. It was like peanut butter and jelly met together for the first time, I was shocked to the core to see a different type of animation style. It was a very popular show that even had it’s own trading card game. The card game exploded at my elementary school but for the kids that didn't know what was going, they only had negative comments about the people playing it. It wasn't really until I owned my first computer, that I discovered how diverse and extraordinary the anime culture really is. Endless hours were spent searching the vast wide web for new animes to watch. Since most animes are in the japanese language and have not been translated into english, I have gained some knowledge on how to speak a little japanese. To this day i have watched over 100 anime series from start to finish. For anime fans most misconceptions are formed on online forums and blogs. A common misconception is that anime is just for kids, but can be easily disproved since most animes are rated pg 13 or higher. Also, in fact there are many series out there that talk about murder and the unknown. Another way that this is portrayed is that anime is only for losers. The people making this assumption couldn't be any more wrong, in today's world it seems like anime is finally being normalized into culture, so it often appears in the most popular cartoon networks. Branching off from that since animes are influenced by japanese culture it pretended to a different anime style and are not the same as cartoons. Also, many of the mainstream animes have taken over the images of people when they think about anime, so they believe all of them are the same. Therefore, many other anime shows are being the limelight stolen from them, and don’t have a chance of being well
