He was able to bring the thought of Toy Story to a screen with his technology. With the inspiration he sends off to the world, he was invited to be the commencement speaker for Stanford University. As he was giving the commencement speech, he was able to set out 3 valuable life lessons. One, that you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. He told that About a year ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. He had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it showed a tumor on his pancreas. The doctors told Steve this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that He should expect to live no longer than three to six months. Steve’s doctor advised him to go home and get his affairs in order, which meant to prepare to die. It meant to try to tell your kids everything you thought you’d have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It meant to make sure everything is in order so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It meant to say your goodbyes. Later that evening he had a biopsy, they put a needle into his pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. He was sedated, but Steve’s wife, who was there, told Steve that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. He had the surgery and was fine. He talks about how This was the closest he’s been to facing death, and he hopes it’s the closest he get for a few more decades. “Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true” …show more content…
One, that you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future, two, the only way to do great work is to love what you do, and lastly, your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. It may not make sense to look backwards, but there comes a time for everything, if not looking backwards, we wouldn’t be able to have such amazing typography on computers. Loving what you do is important, you’re not going to do great work if you don’t love what you do, so don’t settle search until you find it. Death is an element of life and it’s bound to catch up to us sooner or later, so don’t waste your life living in other people's shoes, you shouldn’t care what others think about yourself live your own

For eight single professional women gathered in Dallas, it is holy Wednesday — the night each week that they gather in one of their homes for the Traveling Bachelorette Party. Munching snacks and passing a bottle of wine, they cheer, cry and cackle as their spiritual leader, Trista Rehn, braves heartache, indecision and the occasional recitation of bad poetry to choose from among her 25 swains. Yet something is unsettling Leah Hudson's stomach, and it's not just the wine. "I hate that we've been sucked into the Hoover vac of reality TV," says Hudson, 30. "Do we not have anything better to do than to live vicariously through a bunch of 15-minute-fame…

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

The ideas and ideals the Steve Jobs brings to the table are absolutely astonishing. I mean, just hearing what he had to say literally made me feel as if there were nothing in the world I couldn’t do. I completely agree with what he says. “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon was is the most important tool I have ever encountered.”(Jobs, 2005). Knowing the fact that we all have an hourglass above our heads is extremely important when trying to become something in a short period of time. It means you better get off your behind and do something otherwise you will get that opportunity ever again. Those that only come once in a lifetime. We all have done this at some point in our lives. That is procrastinate when you are asked to do something. What he says really clicks with me and may for hundreds of thousands of people.…

Sharing Blakely's opinion on perseverance, Steve Jobs reminds us that the key of success in life is continuing to come back and keep going. It is easy to look at successful business people and assume their fame and money came overnight, with no particular effort or failure, yet, rarely is that the case. By the time these "overnight" successes come to our attention, they have usually put in years or even decades of long, hard and dedicated work.…

There are also several other people who agree with what Jobs claims of the motivation of life such as Roger Ebert. Roger Ebert is another famous man who criticized movies and he did not let a deadly cancer stop him from doing what he enjoyed most.…

The speech was an eye-opener for those people who did not get satisfaction for the work they did. A recent research that was conducted by Gallup showed that more than 70% of Americans dislike their careers (Fields 55). As a result, there is a sharp drop in the delivery of services because the love for the job has dissipated. In his speech, Steve Jobs talked about following one’s heart in choosing a career. Pursuing one’s passion brings satisfaction to an individual such that they may not wish to get anywhere else. Jobs used his experiences to make the audience understand his point. Jobs dropped out of college because he was not getting the satisfaction he was craving for. He felt that he was wasting his parent’s money learning the things he did not like. Jobs followed his dream and years later, he became one of the most successful people in the world. Although there are valid contrasting views to Steve Jobs’ idea of choosing a career, such as Jeff Haden’s views in Do What You Love? Screw That, Jobs’ notions are the most compelling (Fields 81). The example of the success achieved by Jobs is just one of those moments that people follow their dream and go on to achieve greatness. Many benefits will be accrued by an individual who chooses to follow his/her passion in a career…

I know that we’re all wondering who is going to be the next president. I have a strong guess that it’s going to be Donald Trump-he’s all I’ve been hearing about. And it’s not just the bad things about him, it’s that when I ask who they think they’ll vote for, I’ve never heard anybody say they might vote for Hillary Clinton. Everybody has been saying they might just vote for Donald Trump. If I were to vote, I would also chose Trump too because he said he wouldn’t just take out all the illegal people in the United States, he would also make it easier for them to come back in, but this time it would be legally. These are reason why Donald J Trump should be president of the United States.…
