The album “Songs in the Key of Life” became among the best-selling and most critically acclaimed albums of his career. Earning him 13 weeks at the number one spot of the album charts, winning four out of seven Grammy nominations in 1977 and ranking 56 out of The Rolling Stones 500 Greatest albums of all time. Moreover, its critical response was positive. The album was viewed as “a guided tour through a wide range of musical styles as well as the life and feeling of the artist”.
