Still Life Final Reflection
2D Design Cut Paper:
Through this piece, I wanted to create texture and achieve depth with a limited selection of colors. Even though I was limited to four colors I was successful at creating an image with a foreground, middle ground, and background. Along with depth, the texture of the flower is another cohesive aspect that brings the entire piece together.
Drawing 1 Still Life Final
Within this still life, I was assigned to create a piece that realistically portrayed what was in front of me. To enhance the dark and light moments I used chiaroscuro. While creating the piece I felt that I was successful in creating a composition that highlights and frames the setting appropriately. I struggled with the material throughout the creation process

Using the subject matter of place and time I constructed a set that was accompanied by packaging that enhanced and protected the cards.
Digital Media
For this beer label, I had to conduct some research on different types of beer. I struggled with making the type of beer cohesive with the overall appearance of the label. Another aspect I struggled with is the concept of designing a label to go on a 3D element, rather than to be mounted on a board. I overcame these struggles with the use of color and the placement of the text, making sure it was the appropriate size and length to wrap around a cylinder.
Digital Media Aruba Infographic
Through this piece, I was assigned to create a functional motion graphic animation conveying information of my choosing. While creating the infographic I wanted to capture the upbeat, lighthearted emotion of Aruba while also displaying information. While the infographic was informative the typeface and movement captured the playful happy attitude of the Dutch island.

I struggled with creating a unified message that tackled the issue while also having a call to action. Though I struggled the harmony between the typefaces works together to solve that problem. Having a more humanistic typeface for the call to action resonates with the viewer and the twitter typeface triggers a sense of familiarity. Using text as a visual and thinking critically about the way different typefaces evoke emotion is what makes this a successful piece representing Freedom of Expression.

2D design Object destruction
The goal that was set in place for this project was to find an object and destroy the representation of it. This piece helped me grow as an artist because I learned how to destroy my work and not be infatuated with a specific rendering of a piece. I learned the importance of perseverance and revision. The stages of the object tell a story of transformation and the rebirth of an idea. I was successful in being open to destroy and challenge the traditional methods of developing an artwork I was adding by taking away.

Conceptual Practices- Character The goal of this assignment was to create a character and develop a sound or phrase to repeat for 2 minutes along with other characters. Through the performance, I learned how to create a cohesive but rhythmic piece using my body and movements as

In the article First Paper Assignment, Robert Bagley questions the rationality of Professor X’s assignment “just look carefully and describe what you see” (Bagley, 49) for college freshmen. He believes that an artwork is unable to generate meanings by itself, and therefore, the description of an artwork could only be supported by putting it in some sort of context. Such context can be gained by multiple ways, including but not limited to, comparing with similar artworks, analyzing the effect played by different features consciously, thinking of its cultural and historical context, and comparing across culture.…

Have you ever had a painting that really spoke to you? When I visited the David Owsley Art Museum there was one painting in particular that stuck out to me, it was: Right Bird Left by Lee Krasner. Tis painting made me feel happy and gave me a lot of energy during the time I was at the museum. It caught the attention of my eye by using several different visual elements to depict an abstract representation art piece. Along with that it used principle of designs to help the visual elements play out and work in the painting so that things can be depicted to the human eye correctly. This piece might have looked like bird feathers but it used many different techniques to give me a bigger underlying meaning behind a such complex painting. This piece…

After a visual analysis it helped me look deeper into the painting itself. It helped me understand what the artist really was trying to show rather than just a random assessment of colors and shapes. The theme was addressed well because it managed to show a picture of the universe’s history. By understanding what the story behind the painting it helped me understand the meaning behind it more. Also because I visited it so long ago it reminded of how much I enjoyed the piece and it helped me remember it…

As a graphic designer, I have learned to view things in a different light and learned to express my creativity. Although I am still learning new things everyday about how to become a better artist, I have improved tremendously in every way ranging from the thought process all the way to finalizing each project, and I think that as the days go by I will continue to do well in my high school graphic design career, but in continuing my education in this major and working in a field closely related to it. I have produced at least 5 projects that reflect my passion for graphic design including the New York World’s Fair, currency recreation, and the handmade film poster from the first semester of my junior year and from the second half up until my most recent project, a book jacket, and an organic drink package design.…

Although divorce has always been a part of American culture, it has skyrocketed in the last few decades, reaching an all time high of 50% of all marriages ending in separation. Our culture has changed its view on divorce throughout the years and now accepts divorce in society. In the past, divorce was forbidden. People did not discuss the issue as openly as we do today. In the past, divorce was never shown in the media and was looked down on. Today’s culture has shaped divorce into a more positive decision and has made it relatively easy to file for a separation. With all the hype about marriage and living the American dream, I often wonder what has influenced such an increase in the divorce rate over the last…
