The computer was touch screen and showed all the necessary vital signs of the patient which I found very beneficial. It was pretty shocking to see how realistic the mannequin was. The mannequin’s pulses were a lot easier to feel than a real person. I felt the femoral artery and doralis pedis within seconds which can take a long time to find on real people. Ultimately, working in the sim lab was a memorable experience. We worked at a much slower pace with the mannequin in the lab than what we do at clinical. Most of the time the patients inside the hospital are not as talkative as we like them to be. The patients do not talk because of multiple reasons, but communicating with my patient is something I would like to improve on because communication is an essential concept to nursing care. Towards the end, I noticed the stimulation lab had forced me to talk more to the patient than I would normally at the hospital. Due to the lack of time, I was not able to go into the control room or dispense medicine to the patient. Although, I was able to watch a demonstration of how to scan the medications onto Docucare. The lab experience allowed me learn more about Docucare. While educating and adminstering the medications, we documented nursing notes into Docucare which I had never done prior to this lab
