Stolen Book Report
Stolen by Lucy Christopher teaches its readers to not misinterpret someone’s demeanor on the outside but to look deeper within their soul and understand their perspective. To not praise someone based on what the look like on the outside without getting to know them on the inside.
In the beginning, a sixteen year old teenager by the name of Gemma Toombs is struck by a guy from his looks and his icy blue eyes but comes to find out her drugged her. Later she calls him kidnapper, a psycho, and a stalker. Ty looked oddly familiar to Gemma before meeting him in a cafe in Bangkok airport. Gemma realized Ty had a look in his eyes that made it seem like he wanted her, wanted her for a long time. Ty drugs her and takes her before she can even comprehend
what is going on. He takes her to nothing but heat, sand, and trees. To isolation and expects her to fall in love with him. Ty took her from everything, her Mum and Dad who were with her at the airport but allowed her to go to the cafe before their flight, her best friends Anna and Ben who had always been there for her, and he took her from her life back home. Gemma was very conservative in the first few days with Ty but later shows interest in talking with him and listening to the things about himself and his life. Gemma tries to escape multiple times away from Ty but is unable to because she is incomplete isolation. Eventually Ty comes around and explains to her that she is apart of the isolated land’s beauty. He tells Gemma to give him four months and if she still does not want to be in the emptiness with him that he will take her back. However, an unexpected event occurs that causes the four months to go by within less than a week.
The book Stolen was an amazing story that had its readers at the edge of their seat each time they picked up the book to read. Each page made the reader want to read the next page, and each event that occurred within the book made the reader want to know the outcome. Stolen is heart taking, breath taking, and beautiful all at once.
