There were great advancements durind the Old Stone Age. One of their advancements of the Paleolithic people was that they learned how to tame fire, one of the most important advancements of the stone ages. Fire was good for hunting by surrounding an animal and used fire as a defense. The people could also use fire for warmth as you sat near the fire. Light was used in the dark caves they had inhabited during the ice age. We also know that they had some type of religion. We think this because of we have found cave art which may have had some religious meaning. Another fact was we know they buried their dead. They also learned to use technology such as weapons for defense from animals and for hunting. They were able to make this from a hard stone called flint which was used to make tools. This enabled them to make task specific tools for all of their needs.
There were also big advancements from the Paleolithic time to the Neolithic time. One of the biggest advancements was their ability to domesticate animals. This led them to having meat for them to eat, wool for warmth, and milk to drink. This also meant the people didn’t have to carry as much goods and they could pull carts. The New Stone Age also brought forth the farming revolution. This meant the people who farmed could also settle in one place. The earliest known communities were found in the Middle East. One of the oldest is Jericho in the west bank, between Israel and Jordan, which dates all the way back to 8000 B.C. Another well known village people of this time used to settle is Catal Huyuk in present day Turkey. Between 6700 B.C. and 5700 B.C. it was home to about 6,000 people. They also started surplus, which included specialization and trade. If people weren’t
