On top of it all, male faculty says that what females wear is too distracting for a male to gain an education. Is that then stating that a male's education is more important than a woman's? Schools should teach young men to respect women and just because women wear certain clothing does not mean they are looking for attention. There are males who are also a distraction towards women, but males do not get punished because they are males, but the moment a woman shows skin it's the end of the world. Why would anyone want to support this? Dress codes were set up so men could tell women and others what they can and cannot wear(Zhou, Li,). When a woman gets punished for her clothing, people are making her self confidence lower. That girl then feels ashamed and self conscious all because some faculty member told a female their outfit is not allowed(Key, Scott.). Now, dress codes are meant to prevent bullying, but they still cause a great deal of it. Also, schools have dress codes in an attempt to prevent sexual harassment. Schools want to protect their students' lives and help them gain an education. A simple, small dress code is acceptable, but there is no point in trying to punish students
