perfume soaked coat around her like a soldier, protecting her from the battle that is wind. The battle against her hair begins as she tries to keep her it in order, the wind creating a storm around her head.
She attempts to tie her hair behind her head with a non-existent hair tie, only to let go and allow the storm rage on. She suddenly becomes aware of the soft sound of a radio coming from inside the building. The soft music takes her back to that unwanted place. Wanting to get away, she fastens her pace. Pretty icy swirls turn into short puffs of smoke as she rushes forward. Begging now for her to slow down, her feet create more pain trying to control her mind. Telling herself to ignore the pain, she begins jogging. A wave of sadness crashes over, forcing her to a complete stop. Admitting defeat, she slips off her heels and checks the damage on her feet. The blisters sting as the cold air attacks them. The wave of sadness looms over her like a storm cloud as looks at the dreaded corner. She begins to hum, a sweet song that evokes comforting memories of the past. The coldness no longer affects her, she is numb to all feeling. Loud squelching sounds are created by her bare feet as the freezing concrete turns into muddy grass. A cold shiver is sent from her feet all the way up her
spine. Trying to ignore both the pain and the coldness pulsating through her body, she hums louder. She stops by a multi coloured rose bush and picks out a pure white and deep red rose. Her eyes look down at her muddy feet in respect as she reaches her destination. As she kneels at the well-known spot, she inhales another deep breath and begins singing her special song like her life depends on it. She finds comfort in the cold wind as it carries the sound away, taking the pain away with it. Her eyes come to rest on her favourite spot with a single tear running down her cheek then places the roses down. Next to her, casted on a headstone reads “Our beloved mother, may she rest in peace.”
