aula Webster graduated in 1998 in the field of physical therapy from the University of Hartford. She also holds a certification in strength and Conditioning. Since graduation her clinical experience includes general orthopedics, sports medicine, adolescent strength training and adolescent spinal dysfunction. She is the founder of the Six Degrees of Freedom program for children with adolescent spinal deformities. In September 2008 she entered a joint venture under the guidance of Dr. Blanchard, professor at the University of Hartford to test some of the clinic observations noted while treating children with AIS. This study investigates using the one repetition maximum for testing strength. This technique may prove to be a useful clinical tool if inter-rater reliability can be established.
Paula is currently director of physical therapy at Canton Physical Therapy, is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the International Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT), the National Scoliosis Foundation (NSF) and is Vice President of Statistical Patient Input (SPI), a non-profit research foundation.
