Today education is what you are putting into it such as, if you were to put little effort you will not receive the education needed, if you are determined and put hard work into it you receive the education needed to pursue a career
from your choice. Rawling states Various amounts of people are seeing college as a commodity, but students see college as debt collectors instead of thinking of college as commodity. “It costs too much, spawns too much debt, is or isn’t worth it.” As Rawling states in his post, this can be avoided by going to community colleges for $44.00 for 6 credit hours and earn up by playing sports and/or making a 3.5 or higher GPA to earn scholarships to make the next 3 years and 1 semester of college for free. The way Norman Cousins makes the college educational system as cheap as possible for adults to pursue a career by getting the education they are needing for the economy to strive. While this college in New Mexico makes college possible for so cheap I think the education would be worth the $44.00, the education would not be like going to Harvard or even Yale, but you will be paying for the education needed enough to pursue a career instead of living with a factory job your whole life. So why not fork up the extra cash and get the education needed to be the manager of the factory job and make double if not triple the pay, and in addition to getting a good job you will be paying for a life time of education.
In conclusion for Rawlings “college is a commodity” and Norman Cousins “Top Three Cheapest Community Colleges in the United States” both articles have clear and precise reasons to listen to each of them. I think that a college education is a necessity for today’s economy, if today’s economy had no colleges there would be no economy with half the worlds population would be working factory jobs for cheap labor and/or homeless on the streets begging. Going to college would be the best choice in my opinion but the people that do not go to college and the people that go to college both have a big impact on the economy, but if you peruse a career while going to college I promise you will not regret any of the education you paid for.
