Introduction
The Behavioral Health industry is a field that is designed to help people improve the quality of life through behavioral therapy and facilities around the country are established to treat the people in need. The following pages are a group collaboration on Carver Community Center and the behavioral health aspects relating to the current internal and external environment, directional strategy, mission, values and goals. OASAS is responsible for overseeing a large and “diverse addiction prevention and treatment system”; they focus on “accessible” and “cost-effective quality services;” their goals are to utilize prevention methods to build strong “schools, communities, and families” (NY State OASAS, 2012). The U. S. Dept. of HHS established SAMHSA to allow for an organized method of addressing the mental and substance use issues of the people in the nation. Mental and substance abuse issues are frequently left out of the traditional health care arena, and need dedicated treatment centers and skilled staff members to help the people with their illnesses.
