Introduction
Case studies allow understanding and analyzing, the business scenario in better way. They help to facilitate learning and building strategies while one is working. The following report highlights three cases, Shimla dairy, The Cola Wars and Starbucks. Different tools for analyzing these cases can be applied in order to understand them in a better way. Some of the tools are: - * PEST Analysis * SWOT Analysis * Advantage of first mover * Barriers to entry * Buyers * Weapons * Value chain/supply chain * Customer experience * Competitive advantage
Shimla Dairy Product
Shimla Dairy product has been a consistent player in the cheese industry in India for 30 years, and now Shimla Dairy wants to analyze its current business tactics in order to expand their business in India. The finding for Shimla Dairy based on PEST analysis will be helpful for Shimla Dairy to accomplish their business goal in domestic market.
Shimla Dairy has high reputation in terms of 30 years business experience in India, and high quality of the products and growth rate of the company will provide a high profitable vision to the company.
Shimla Dairy has a significant problem especially in marketing section. The company only relies on word of mouth advertising effect, thus they have to invest in marketing section by organizing R&D and Marketing department in order to get awareness of the products and customer’s loyalty. Also, Shimla Dairy needs to set up more distributors and capacity in order to improve accessibility to retailers, and by using this strategy, the company could response adequately to sudden demands of retailers need, and the company could get extended order from customers based on extended capacity.
Nowadays, there is a high growth trend of growing demands for Cheese industry based on these things that I mentioned above. To maximize the market share, the company should focus on potential retailers such as Indian military, and
