There are many necessary learning skills one must acquire to succeed in a workplace that does not differentiate between professions. Surrounding those traits, strengths and weakness lie that must be improved on as much as possible. With regards to the Learning Skills Assessment chart, I clearly have strong areas that are transferrable between pathways, however, also weak areas that I must develop.
Characteristics I possess within my stronger field include responsibility, collaboration, and initiative. Responsibility is a trait that has always been more developed in my life considering I am the eldest child in my household. Therefore my parents rely on me to care for my sibling while they are at work or away as well as set a proper example for them to follow. The three traits I must evolve are organization, self-regulation, and independent work, and straight away you see that these characteristics mostly have to do with time management which I find myself to struggle with a lot. For me to improve on organization, I must learn to plan better and create an agenda for completing my work. I believe I should begin creating schedules for my work, play, and health to balance the aspects of my life. Alternatively, self-regulation is simple to grow on as well. My first step to doing so would be to create goals for myself and to judge my progress towards those goals. Lastly, independent work is one that thus far is decently strong. However, I must work on using my time wisely by not procrastinating and beginning my work at once.
