As a writer, there are things that I do well, but there are also things I could improve on to make my writing better. I’m pretty good at getting my point across, and getting people to understand what I’m trying to say. Another thing I’m good at is just writing the paper. Once I get started on a paper it is very easy for me to just keep writing until I’m done with it. However, when doing this I tend to not use the best grammar and be too wordy with my writing. I can definitely fix these issues, and continue to build on the things that I do well.…

Ever since I was in fourth grade, I have enjoyed helping kids and watching them learn new things and grow. The best feeling is helping children with something and watching their faces light up as they discover what they can do all by themselves. While in fourth and fifth grade, I was a part of the buddy program at my school which entailed spending every lunch in the special education classroom at my elementary school. A trait I possess is being sequential and that is useful for the career I want because it will help me with staying organized and grading papers. We tend to obsess over our weaknesses rather than recognizing our strengths, but the strengths quest introduced us to a different philosophy. Instead of dwelling on our weaknesses or desperately trying to turn them into strengths, we should focus on the strengths we already have and built upon them to succeed. The Strengths Quest presentation was my favorite part of the course. The Strengths Quest is a 30-minute online assessment that asks us a series of questions and determines what our five top strengths are based on our choices. The presentation helped us gain insights on how to use our strengths to our advantage. We learned about each of our strengths and how they can help us succeed in academics, work, relationships, and choosing a career.…

The first characteristic I received was social, this is the interest of working with people to help them with a variety of needs, such as, educational, physical or mental. This was my highest attribute, and I can see why because I very much enjoy helping individuals with any situation that arises. This trait will be very beneficial in occupational therapy because I will have to be able to interact on a daily basis caring for people’s needs. I will use this characteristic to connect to an individual on different levels and will allow me and my patient to have meaningful connections with each other. In addition, social skills come into play when communicating efficiently with the patient. I am going to have to explain why we are doing a certain…
