The Law Firm

Brief Background

The Firm De Jesus Linatoc Castillo & Associates (previously De Jesus Linatoc Mendoza & Associates) is a general partnership of lawyers registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission under SEC Registration No. AP096-00938.

It was organized in mid-1993 under the firm name Gozos Marquez & De Jesus Law Offices, consisting of Attys. Oscar L. Gozos, Reynaldo Q. Marquez and Solomon L. De Jesus. It was first registered with the SEC in 1994 under SEC Reg. No. AP094-001416.

Atty. Solomon L. de Jesus, one of the original partners, served as City Councilor of Lipa City in 1995 onward. The other founding member, Atty. Oscar L. Gozos, became the Chief Provincial Prosecutor of Batangas in 1995, and was elected as Congressman for the 4th District of Batangas in 2001 and re-elected in 2004. In 2007, Atty. Gozos served as City Mayor of Lipa. Atty. Reynaldo Q. Marquez, the Firm’s long-time Chief of Litigation, separated from the Firm in 1996 to serve his own growing clientele. He still actively practices his profession.

With the above developments, Atty. Andrew C. Linatoc became a Senior Partner and eventually a Managing Partner, joined by his Senior Partner, Atty. Glenn P. Mendoza. Atty. Mendoza separated from the Firm in 2007, when he became the City Administrator of Lipa.

Way back in February 2002, the Firm opened an extension office at Rosario, Batangas to efficiently serve its clients from Rosario, Padre Garcia, Ibaan, San Juan, and Taysan, Batangas. The Rosario Office was manned by its Associate Lawyer Triven P. Castillo, a former Municipal Administrator of Rosario. He now holds office at its Lipa Office as a Senior Partner. To better serve its clients, Atty. Pamela T.

Bang! The gun rang throughout the glistening Olympic stadium in Sydney. Marion Jones claimed her first gold in the 100m dash. After the exciting two week competition ended, three gold medals and two bronze medals glimmered around the neck of the beautiful and gifted athlete, Marion Jones. Everything seemed to click that year for the three-time Olympic champion, but her tremendous performances led critics to question whether she had used performance-enhancing drugs. After denying any allegation of taking illegal substances, in 2007, Marion Jones announced the she “unknowingly” took performance-enhancing drugs in 2000 and 2001. Along with the five medals, her pride and respect were infamously ripped from her. After gaining legendary status at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, similar to Hester Prynne in the Scarlet Letter, Marion Jones was shunned from society after admitting that she unknowingly took performance-enhancing drugs.…

In every state that retains the death penalty, jurors have the option of sentencing convicted capital murderers to life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, according to the Death Penalty Information Center, there have been 1369 executions since 1976 (Death Penalty Information Center, 2014), with a total of 39 executions in year 2013 (NAACP LDF). The death penalty is a cycle of violence magnified with economic inequalities, violations to human rights, and uses cruel uncivilized instruments of death. US lawmakers need to end this horrific cycle of violence and unjust punishment. This immorality of state-sanctioned killing is wrong in many ways and should be abolished.…

What the General Prologue offers is a brief, often very visual description of each pilgrim, focusing on details of their background, as well as key details of their clothing, their food likes and dislikes, and their physical features. These descriptions fall within a common medieval tradition of portraits in words (which can be considered under the technical term ekphrasis), Chaucer's influence in this case most likely coming from The Romaunt de la Rose.…
