Abstract:

Our project dived into two parts the first one talks about indoor localization. The second, talks about analyzer tool.
The first part: We want to make an android application which is responsible about determine the location of the mobile devices based on received signal strength (RSSI) of the access points.
We know that GPS is not functioning indoor, i.e.: in closed building it is difficult for GPS to work because the clear line of sight is not completely satisfied inside. So we need another method which can be applicable indoors.
Indoor Localization Application (ILA) is an android application that uses RSSI of at least three access points to locate mobile station (MS). If it gets a stable signal from the access points it will locate the position of the device precisely, but if the signal strength the application gets is not stable (changing frequently) we might face a problem in the accuracy of the location of the MS.
The second part:
We are going to implement sniffing tool using python language that sniff all types of Frames and our plan to develop it to detect some attacks against network devices (e.g. wireless access point ,router ,etc...) .
This tool must be friendly to user, thereby we need to add some additional features to this tool like Graphical User interface (GUI) and some chart that showed statistical issues for each type of Frames (Beacon , ACK , CTS , etc...) after this we can measure network performance .

Indoor Localization Application (ILA):

This device is more advanced than the radio frequency device. This device has been used since 1997. The device can be worn on the ankle or wrist but the offender has to carry the transmitter. This device uses the cell phone to transmit the signal to the monitoring center. The signal uses a global positioning satellite, which tracks the offender’s movement throughout the community. This technology allows probation officers to review the offender’s whereabouts as well as shows if the offenders enter a certain restricted area (OPPAGA, 2005, p.…

Geolocation has truly made an impact on the world. In the past, individuals used to print out their directions and used paper to tell them where to go. The only problem with this is that you could potentially lose the paper or if you wanted to do add a route onto it, there was no possible way because you wouldn’t have access to the Internet. Now with the onslaught of Smartphones, tablets, etc. you can plug in your information and your current location is already saved on the server. You are able to find your current location on your mobile device by the GPS chip that is installed on them. The GPS chip is where all of the data is stored, sent, and received. Smartphones, tablet, and Internet devices all should have GPS chips within their systems. The iPhone and “The iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G models do have built-in GPS chips that receive signals from the global GPS satellite system to determine your location - as closely as three meters, depending the number of satellite signals the chip is receiving. GPS in the iPad 2 is classed as assisted GPS, also known as AGPS, which enhances the performance of standard GPS in devices connected to Wi-Fi or the cellular network. The iPad 2 W-Fi + 3G may be used for the full range of apps that require detailed location information wherever you may be…

Global positioning systems have been fully operational since April 27, 1995. GPS have become widely used worldwide, and a useful tool for map making, land surviving, commerce, scientific uses, tracking and surveillance, and hobbies such as geocaching. Also, the precise time reference is used in many applications including the scientific study of earthquakes and as a required time synchronization method for cellular network protocols .(2) Geographers find GPS to be particularly useful in coding the precise location of objects. That information can later be enters as a layer in geographic information systems. (2)…

The process of purchasing and installing Awarepoint is quite simple. Once the medical practice develops a floor plan and its business needs are determined, AwarePoint installs sensors in throughout the medical facility which allows the facility to have access to Awarepoint’s mesh network. The next step is to attach RFID tags to the equipment and to have patient and medical personnel tags. Patient and medical personnel tags come in many forms; they can be attached to belt clips, lanyards, badges or an ID bracelet. After these two simple steps are completed, the medical facility is now able to track and locate the medical devices, staff or patients by using Awarepoint’s search engine. The search engine is simple to use and requires very little training.…

WiFi networks are universally used in our everyday lives. It provides wireless connectivity for a wide range of mobile networking devices. All digital devices can connect to the internet via a wireless network access point that has a range of about 20 meters indoors such as homes and offices and a greater range outdoors such as parks, schools and shopping centers. As Internet users become reliant on WiFi access points (APs) to connect their smartphones, tablets and laptops, the availability and performance of tomorrow’s networks will depend on well tuned and managed access points. A key part of managing access points is the ability to locate individual access points based on their signal. Current techniques (RSS Grandient, Signal Map, Directional Antenna) to locate outdoor WiFi access points require extensive wardriving measurements and low accuracy, determined by significant offline computation or complex hardware components that would cost several thousand dollars. In order to solve this problem, there is a commercial need for a cost and time-efficient alternative way to accurate outdoor WiFi AP location.…
