The system was also exclusively designed only for the account and to her manpower. Accountant viewed the accounts of the students from the system. A good accounting information system (AIS) will help create, maintain, and distribute the financial reports as well as perform tasks in payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and budgeting (Bagranoff, Simkin, & Norman, 2010). Management will be able to set up controls in the system allowing staff to have access to what is necessary and appropriate for their job. They will be able to call up and modify this information electronically without searching or filling out new paperwork. Data entry will be mainstreamed, allowing for less key strokes, and integration of information. This will allow for better accuracy in accounting and accounts will be able to be managed more efficiently, including processing of bi-weekly payroll. Payroll will then be sent directly to processing and reports to the correct managers. Accounts receivable will be able to track when customers use the POS system and update the sales information. Accounts payable will track when a vendor payment is due, allowing for payment processing, and appropriate management and accounting reports. The inventory system will be more accurate saving Kudler time and…

The new implemented accounting information system is only as good as the information entered into the database as per company requirements. While the primary purpose of the new system was to reduce time and money, the implementation of the new system, however ended up in an avoidable lapse in judgment by the management and the employees. All financial transactions have three main requirements to ensure proper accounting of business operations: timeliness, accuracy, and validity. If these transactions failed to meet these guidelines, information entered into the software* will lead to improperly prepared reports and a total system failure.…

There are many types of information systems that are employed by payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accounting. Input controls help ensure the validity, accuracy, and completeness of the data entered into an accounting information system. When working with input controls it is important to observe, record, and write down all the companies’ data. When observing the data the company must make use of dual observation, for the fact that more than one employee is involved in the observation process. It is essential for a company to record all of its data, so nothing gets misread, misinterpreted, or lost. When recording data some companies prefer to use electronics such as the use of point-of-sale devices and smart cash registers. Although the electronic option on recording data can make the process much easier, some businesses find the electronic method not feasible, therefore their documents must be prepared manually. When businesses choose to record their data manually, preprinted recording forms are sometimes used. Edit test may also be used. Processing controls process the companies’ information once it has been entered into the companies’ computer system. It is important for companies to have a clear audit trail. Having a clear audit trail helps trace transactions in order to provide all the proper documentation for changes in general ledger account balances, to prepare financial reports, and to correct errors in transactions. Some companies’ have information systems known as batch control totals, which represent the dollar amounts that are recorded onto checks. The batch control totals are stored into the…
