In order to reach my desired minimum desired final revenue, it is necessary that at least $25,000 of work is lined up prior to the beginning of the summer season of painting. Strategies that would be implemented in order to achieve this goal would include flyers, word-of-mouth references, lawn signs, cold calling, newspaper articles, and local promotion on radio or in public facilities. I would implement these techniques every weekend, traveling home to market for two days, following the training session in March. On these weekends, I would wake up at six in the morning, flyers cars until ten or eleven in the morning, then begin cold calling until the sun sets, then would return to flyering until ten at night. After the recent events around the world, such as the numerous terrorist attacks and threatening natural disasters, individuals are left to cling to their religious beliefs for comfort and encouragement to press on. Some of these events have encouraged division between cultures, since many of the terrorist attacks are done in the name of their god. After the 2001 attack on the twin towers in New York, and the Pentagon, many people were leery of individuals who valued their Muslim beliefs. In fact, many Muslim worshippers were criticized and accused of having terrorist ties, when, in fact, the people who were actually responsible for the attack were extremists and radicals who took their religious beliefs and mixed them with their own demented thoughts. The truth of the matter is the act carried out that day does not effectively represent the beliefs of the common Muslim person. The rebuilding efforts are in full force today, with many people who have moved on and welcomed the start of their new life. It seems fitting that, in light of our…

UC Irvine (UCI) was first founded in 1965. UC Irvine was one of three new Universities of California campuses established in the 1960s. UC Irvine was not named after the city it was built in, instead, the name is a reference to James Irvine, a landowner who administered the 94,000-acre Irvine Ranch. At the time, the current city of Irvine did not exist until it was incorporated in 1971. In 1964, the University purchased an additional 510 acres for housing and commercial developments. Most of the land that UCI didn’t purchase, which is now occupied by the cities of Irvine, Tustin, Newport Beach, and Newport Coast, is now held by the ‘Irvine Company’. UC Irvine's first Chancellor, Daniel G. Aldrich, developed the campus's first academic…

I attended Ketchum High School in Ketchum, Oklahoma. My school’s mission statement was: “Educating all students in a safe, positive environment through rigorous standards to develop productive members of society. Through accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, data driven decisions, equity, high expectations, and integrity.” One example of my school’s athletic department supporting this statement is through accountability. My basketball coach would find out each of his players’ schedules and have a meeting every two weeks with their teachers. He would access their grades and their behavior throughout class, and would either congratulate you or punish you depending on the answer he was given. Another example of supporting this…

I had only just graduated from university with a degree in Business Administration and had not been through that type of internship before. Also, I knew that working for an American company, excellent standards would be required and I was not sure I was capable of meeting them. But with the motivational words from Bayo, I realized I could actually go a long way with this opportunity.…

Having attended a Catholic High School, while not being Catholic has opened many doors for me. I got to experience another religion, while learning about its origins, beliefs, and contributions to the world. Growing up in a Sikh family, I had always been taught to respect human life, work hard, give back, and remember God; a lot of these same aspects were reiterated in school, engraining them in my everyday life. One of the main concepts I took away from my high school was the concept of education hearts and minds, which in my mind resonates highly with the mission of Pepperdine. The main aspect behind educating hearts and minds is that while education in the purest sense is very important, equally important is how we go…

In the Summer, a majority of the events that go on are camps. There are the camps that the Superdome holds, and then there are Sports camps that outside parties hold. For example, this week there is Lacrosse camp, the Superdome’s camp, and World Class Soccer camp all taking place in the Superdome. However, in the Fall, there are many more events that go on throughout the day. There are rentals from outside sports such as Field Hockey, Soccer, Football, Baseball, Lacrosse, as well as the Superdomes house programs that consist of Soccer training and introductory classes to different sports. All of these programs will begin after I begin school, however, in order for them to be successful we need to start marketing for them in August. We discussed when we would send out emails, how often we will do mailers, and how we can bring in new…
