At the end of Night, by Elie Wiesel, as Wiesel is staring back into his own corpses eyes, it is clear to readers that Wiesel’s emotions, feelings, and even psychological mindset is completely and utterly eradicated. After enduring not only the mental toll of the Holocaust but also the somatic torture placed upon him, Wiesel is nothing but dead- just not literally. His mind wished so desperately to leave it’s failing material yet it was never able to. Wiesel’s brain was no longer a part of him for in his situation meaning so brought death. In Night, Wiesel’s drive of religion…

In 1941, three men reach India from Tibet, having walked 4000 miles after escaping a Siberian gulag. The film tells their story and that of four others who escaped with them and a teenage girl who joins them in flight. The group's natural leader is Janusz, a Pole condemned by accusations secured by torturing his wife; he knows how to live in the wilds. They escape under cover of a snowstorm: a cynical American, a Russian thug, a comic accountant, a pastry chef who draws, a priest, and a Pole with night blindness. They face freezing nights, lack of food and water, mosquitoes, an…

A hierarchical network resembles a star network in that several computers are connected to a central host computer. However, these "client" computers also serve as host computers to next level units. Thus, the hierarchical network can theoretically be compared to a standard organizational chart or a large corporation. Typically, the host computer at the top of the hierarchy is a mainframe computer. Lower levels in the hierarchy could consist of minicomputers and microcomputers. It should be noted that a system can sometimes have characteristics of more than one of the above topologies.…

In May 2005, David Foster Wallace, an award-winning American essayist and novelist, delivered a commencement address to the graduating class at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Certainly, he is not the first American writer and college professor to address a graduating class. And yet, for some reason, in 2011, Time magazine named Wallace’s speech the “best commencement speech”; indeed, numerous other publications have rated Wallace’s commencement address as one of the “greatest.” For students, college graduation marks a time at which, with diploma in hand, you walk off the stage and look forward to the next phase of life. Often, colleges shed light on the important nature of graduation with the invitation of a keynote commencement speaker. It's a process that even extends to the President of the United States. He was famous for his 1996 novel “infinite jest” which was cited by time magazine as one of the 100 best English- language novels from 1923-2005.…
