You are a Student NowCollege life is a thing which you can hardly forget. This is the time when you become an adult, a more sensible person with the sober views on life.First of all, to pass entrance exams and enter the university is a real challenge for a young person. It takes a lot of time, knowledge, patience and nerves. Besides, there is an avalanche of work expects you. A student ought to get accustomed to a new timetable, new subjects which are much more complicated than at school. Very often it is difficult to cope with the work load of college or university. You have to be a serious, attentive and responsible person concentrated on studying. Some new students soon understand that studying at university is hard work which takes a lot of time and strength, so they immediately start missing classes. This is not so good for them, because it is so difficult to catch up with the programme later. Besides, such students usually have a great number of debts before the beginning of examination session.Another point is the relationships within a group and between students and teachers. It is not a secret that relationships play an important role in student’s life. You spend a lot of time at the university communicating with your group mates and trying to make a contact with other students. It is wonderful if you find a like-minded person who can become a real friend for all 5 or 6 years of studying or you just meet interesting people who are easy in communication. Sometimes an opposite thing may happen. When you see your group mates for the first time, it may seem to youthat they have nothing in common with you. Then the atmosphere within the group is just unbearable. Things get worse and it becomes difficult to find even a topic for conversation. Different things happen during your college life. Anyway, it is extremely important to have good relationships with your group mates and teachers and to show the best qualities and features of character. In conclusion, it should be mentioned that students come across a lot of events during their studying in college or university. Some of them may disappoint you, some bring a lot of joy and even make you feel happy. That is why a lot of people say that their college or university years were the greatest and the happiest time in their life. They also say, that if they could go back in time, they would have taken a music band and joined choir, learned harder another language besides the English language, and improve the relationships between teachers who they have no special liking. They got in love for the first time in university, they went to party, got lots of joy and positive emotions, got in different competitions, and etc., but anyway, they think that the college life is the happiest time in their life.I am a student too, and I think that my university life I can hardly forget. For me, it is time when I become an adult, a more sensible person with the sober views on life. Also I think that never forget to study and you can be a student for all the time. |

There are several reasons readers should familiarize themselves with Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” (also known as “The Negro Is Your Brother”) from our textbook called, "writing arguments." First and most significantly, it was written during “a critical turning point in the struggle for African American civil rights” and is, therefore, this document is generally considered the most important written document of the modern civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Junior's famous is one of the best pieces of writing I have ever read because of its ability to expound on ideas and create a thorough argument as to why what he was doing was just. Throughout this piece Dr. King used rhetoric to persuade his reader and craft a convincing argument. The use of logos, ethos and pathos were all present as he attempted to win over a group of clergymen who challenged his right to protest by calling him an outsider and extremist. So, the letter is also a brilliant example of the art of persuasion as it masterfully analyzes its dual audience: the eight clergymen who reacted to King’s nonviolent activities, and King’s fellow demonstrators. And like all well-crafted persuasive writing, it employs all the rhetorical methods of appeal - the appeal to reason, character, emotion, and style (such as metaphor, simile and other reasoning).…

According to the New York Times article by Tamar Lewin on January 26, 20110, recent studies have shown that stress levels of incoming college freshmen are at an all time high. College counselors have agreed that these polls are a reflection of what they see daily in their offices. Many students are depressed, under stress, and using psychiatric medication that are prescribed during their high school years. With college tuition fees increase each year, Brian Van Brunt believes that the great financial burden on students is one of the main stressor. Though statistics still show that students are better off going to college, students are finding it harder to believe there’s a job out there waiting on the other end. Another reason why students are under tremendous amount of stress is because of the pressure that they put themselves under. While the students emotional health is at risk, their drive to achieve is also higher than ever. Students seem to believe that being more financially independent in the future; they will need to get into an MBA or a PhD program. There is also a huge gender gap between male students and female students who are suffering from emotional stress. Perry C. Francis, the coordinator for counseling services at Eastern Michigan University believes…

The most important realization that a student can make in their hunt for success and personal growth is that there is no such thing as the correct chronological order of reaching success but rather what are the correct steps and attributes. Success is a word that can be defined in multiple ways depending on the individual being asked. The definition could either consist of personal experience or from what they have observed and learned in the past. Most students, especially those in high school, define their success by going to college and earning a degree in a high paying career. A successful student should have a specific purpose or aim in life. It could either be attending a four year university, community college or simply in grade school…

In 2010, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson auditioned as solo candidates for the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor.[4] They failed to progress to the "Boys" category at "judges' houses" but were put together to form a five-piece boy band at Wembley Arena, in London, England, in July 2010, during the "bootcamp" stage of the competition,[5] thus qualifying for the "Groups" category. Nicole Scherzinger, a guest judge,[4][6][7]and Simon Cowell have both claimed to have come up with the idea of forming the band. In 2013, Cowell said that it "took him 10 minutes to put them together as a group".[8] Subsequently, the group got together for two weeks to get to know each other and to practise.[9][10] Styles came up with the name One Direction.[9] For their qualifying song at "judges' houses", and their first song as a group, One Direction sang an acoustic version of "Torn".[11] Cowell later commented that their performance convinced him that they "were confident, fun, like a gang of friends, and kind of fearless as well."[12] Within the first four weeks of the live shows, they were his last act in the competition.[13] The group quickly gained popularity in the UK.[12]…
