Chromatography paper can be used to separate mixed chemicals, including mixed chloroplast pigments prepared from extract from fresh green grass or spinach. The mixture of pigments was prepared from organic greens, which were cleaned, cut into small pieces and bathed in acetone overnight (S. W. Jeffrey). The different pigments, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and beta carotene have different polarities, due to which the separation of these pigments is possible with chromatography paper.…

If you've got a pet, any pet - a dog, a cat, a hamster, gerbil, bunny, ferret or rat - then you NEED Nature's Miracle Advanced Stain and Odor Remover. This is not the original Nature's Miracle - a good product, but not nearly as strong. This is the new one, the one in the red bottle. It was costly - just under $40 (with tax) for a gallon and it's not a concentrate, so you don't get to stretch it by mixing it with water. Because of the price, I was hesitant when I bought my first jug. But now I'm so glad I did. I have a golden retriever, Andy, and he's a very good boy. He's definitely house trained and he's normally very careful about it. But he does have this one weakness: When there are fireworks or even thunder storms making those big,…

What happened was this: banks were approached by thousands of possible new home owners asking for loans. This was during a period where the United States real estate market was climbing fast, and the value of homes was rising quickly. The banks approved these ‘bad’ or ‘sub-prime’ mortgages under the mentality that if the new home owners were to foreclose, the property would have a higher value than what it originally was due to the climbing real estate market, meaning that the bank would not lose money but make a profit! What actually happened was that the real estate market crashed, and banks were out of pocket due to the massive numbers of foreclosures on mortgages occurring. This set off the global financial crisis, which led to a global economic downturn and the recession in most developed countries. All that because of some bad debts in the States!…

Many attempts have been made to produce an insect repellent from Lanzones peelings. Lanzones peelings are the main ingredient for our study. The group chose it because according to research, the skin of lanzones has a certain compound that can repel mosquitos. When burned, it also produces an aromatic smell which is soothing and relaxing. This ingredient can also be burned easily. It is perfect for the production of katol, a coil of incense used to kill and repel mosquitoes here in the Philippines. It is more effective when lanzones peelings are dried first under the sun so it will be more combustible. When combined with starch, the group will be able to produce a mosquito coil quite similar to those on the market. The only difference is that our group will be making an insect repellent in the form of a candle.…
