ABSTRACT
Three times situ surveys were conducted during Mar. and Sep. 2013. The result showed that: biomass reached the peak of 2627±920g/m2, it has significant difference between variety site; there are ten main species of aquatic macrophyte in the investigated area and the aquatic phytocoenosium can be divided as Myriophyllum spicatum-Trapa maximowiczii, Nymphoides indica-Elodea nuttalli, Trapa maximowiczii-Limnanthemum nymphoides, Elodea nuttalli-Limnanthemum nymphoides. Lake East Taihu community diversity is relatively stable, but the diversity of Jun. is lower than the diversity of Sep, which could be the effect imposed by the artificial cultivation of Elodea nuttal.

Lake East Taihu; Hydrophyte; Community diversity; Spatial and temporal distribution.

INTRODUCTION
Lake East Taihu is a big shallow lake located to the north east of Lake Taihu, which is largest freshwater lake in China, with an area of 130km2, accounting for
5.5% of Lake Taihu. The average depth of Lake East
Taihu is 0.9m, storage of 1.18×108m3[1]. It’s also a main water supply for the adjacent cities such as
Wujiang, Suzhou and Wuzhong. Lake East Taihu is a typical macrophytic lake, the richness and diversity of hydrophyte vegetated in Lake East Taihu are the highest in Taihu area, helping with the low occurrence of eutrophication[2]. As the development of economic and population increasing in the lake basin, Lake Taihu has suffered increasingly from serious pollution. Diversity of the aquatic macrophyte has been decresing from 75 species in total in 1980s to 55 species[3] in late

Location of the stream was not the only factor that could have contributed to the abundance of algae abundance and macroinvertebrates diversity, the surroundings also contributed. Tyler Run stream is located on a college campus, this means that it bears the burden of college students trash, it has chemicals from the pesticides the college uses, and the fertilizer the college uses. All these things can affect the streams cleanliness and inhabitants. A lot of pollution ends up in the Tyler Run river and this can lead to an increase or decrease of algae and macroinvertebrates. Our data showed an opposite effect of our hypothesis, this results could be seen because of the riparian buffer having an effect on the stream. A riparian buffer helps…

Limnology of the Manly Reservoir Catchment was undertaken to assess the trophic status of the lentic system in the catchment area. Manly Dam is surrounded by urban development and bushland. It is of extreme importance as both a water supply for domestic and commercial use and as a site for a diverse range of flora and fauna. It has a large area of bushland which is an important ecological site. The whole catchment incorporates this bushland, urban areas (including recreational areas) and commercial developments. The extent of the urban development is increasing which is in turn applying pressure to this ecosystem.…

Although Bryophytes and Pterophytes are both plant divisions with a common ancestor, they have little in common. While Bryophytes (mosses) are generally nonvascular and very short in height, Pterophytes (ferns) are vascular plants that usually grow much taller than mosses. While the dominant generation in mosses is the gametophyte, ferns exhibit the sporophyte generation. The details of their alternations of generation vary as well, although both have diploid and haploid stages. Alteration of generations is defined as a life cycle in which there is both a multicellular diploid form, the sporophyte, and a multicellular haploid form, the gametophyte.…
