Studying abroad is better than studying locally.

Knowledge is a power that many people argue that way and indeed is true. Many people move to different parts of the world simply because of thirst of knowledge. For instance, Mahatma Gandhi studied law in South Africa, and returned to his country a scholar, who had a conviction of leading people towards justice. Just like him, many other students have their own reasons for studying abroad for instance, students can learn much kind of skills, widen the knowledge, and the increasing of their job opportunities.
Firstly, the student will have chance to improve their language. I think nothing is better than to learn language with the native speakers. So it is very useful to improve their listening and speaking skills. For examples, student that studying in Middle East can quickly learn the Arabic because of the environment force them to do so. If they’re not learning the language quickly, they will have the some difficulties in communications, because most of people in Middle East only speak in Arabic. Only little of them know English. Studying abroad also can give students the survival skills. This skills is very useful and its can`t be teach by a teacher. This surviving skill will make them independent. It’s important to make them independent because they are far from their family, so they can make a decision by them self and they will learn from the decision that they made.
In addition, abroad universities have their own educational system. In Malaysia, our educational system is based on examinations, but in foreign countries such as Finland their educational system is base on “test less, learn more”. It also has perfect infrastructure and research facilities. Some courses such as biotechnology may require many facilities for research so at times students prefer going abroad as they believe that they have better

In the first place, the overseas students will face a problem that they have no place to live after they leave an airport. For instance, some students fail to hand in an application for accommodation on time. Therefore, they have to live in a hotel until they find an appropriate place to live. In the second place, international students always start their trip without necessary things. Especially, students come to their new home just with some clothes. However, this is an assumption. According to Cleary’s article, there are indeed glaring disadvantages to studying abroad. Firstly, the cost of pursuing higher education overseas is very high. In Australia, the cost alone for an undergraduate degree for international students range from $15k-$30k annually as compared to its fees for local students at $7k-$10k. This is not even including the cost of living the student would incur overseas. The significantly higher fees for international students is definitely a huge factor of how studying abroad may not be the ideal choice for everyone. Furthermore, governments and institutions are starting to implement policies to ensure that local universities still appeal to their locals. This can be seen by student exchange programmes set up where students get to experience education in a different country for one or two semesters while still paying local university fees. Also, most governments subsidise their local students, like in Australia, where the government has schemes called “Higher Education Loan Programme” and “Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support”, which gives out loans to local students and offer subsidies from the government…

There have always been various matters of concern in our modern society, and one topical issue is studying abroad. According to Scott (1998), studying overseas has become a global trend, especially in English – speaking countries. As a matter of fact, when people’s standards of living improve, they often think about increasing their knowledge so they could have a better life. To do that, they are eager to study for higher education (i.e: university education) overseas. However, everything has its advantages and disadvantages, and studying abroad is not an exception. To my way of thinking, the advantages of studying abroad far outweigh the disadvantages. This essay is divided into 3 parts. The first part will discuss the academic benefits, and then introduce the effects of studying abroad for interpersonal development; the latter will describe future job opportunities of studying abroad.…

Looking at the trend recently, most of the students feel that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. As a saying goes, the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. However, the students have their own choices either studying in universities abroad or in local universities. They have own reason to stud locally or abroad. Both of universities, abroad or local have their own uniqueness. So, we cannot ignore the fact that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities but to study in local also has advantages. In Malaysia, there are many local universities that have a good quality and students have a variety of choice that they can choose. In my opinion, I disagree that studying abroad is better than studying in local universities. This is because studying in local universities can save the cost and it is as good as universities abroad while students who study abroad are exposed to culture shock and they will not have communication barrier.…
