I approroach this week’s reading by printing everything out so I will have all course work and chapters in front of me. Then I read the entire chapter taking note in my own word so I can understand them better. When I have all my notes and key headings marked out, I read the assignments to see if I read the answer. Sometimes I’ll read the chapter over again to make sure I didn’t miss anything important in my notes. I even reread my notes a couple of time to make sure they make sense, but before I do any type of finial paper I search the library to find more info if I quite don’t understand.…

Read texts that you deem most important or relevant for a course first, particularly when your professor mentions a passage or when a reading is to be covered in class. Prioritize readings by determining what will be reviewed in discussion sections and by knowing test dates and due dates for papers. Be sure that you have enough time to complete your reading assignments by scheduling more time than you think you need.…

I already use some of these techniques, before I even start reading, I always skim through the book to see what topics are in it and know what I am about to read. Every time that I am about to read a textbook, I make sure that I have a highlighter, to highlight the most relevant parts of the book and a notebook to take notes for myself about what I am reading or summarize a paragraph. It is time consuming but at the end very beneficial, for me anyway.…
Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Although we were supposed to get together to practice for the event, we were only able to meet up once a week. In addition to having a hard time with time scheduling, we often did not have a consensus of opinion. Whenever we had a discussion, we usually ended up with no results. So it always took a long time for us to make a decision. Consequently, the performance did not turn out as well as we expected. Because of this initial failure, I thought group work was time consuming and ineffective. However, I have changed my opinion lately because of the successful results in some of my laboratory classes. In each laboratory assignment, it is nearly impossible to work by myself because there are a lot of steps and each step needs to be very precise and accurate. Therefore, a group of two or three students will work more effectively compared to an individual because they can help to remind each other and finish the assignment faster. Based on those experiences, one more time I give myself a chance to work in a group and figured out how work effectively. Finally, thank to the Small group communication class, I found out that group work can become very productive if all the members in the group cooperate and follow the principles of small group communication. In this paper, I want to talk…
Working in groups is one way to differentiate this strategy for all learns as it utilizes advanced thinking strategies (Moore, Moore, Cunningham, & Cunningham, 2011, p. 181). More advanced students would have an opportunity to write their own word problems for an even great challenge and learning…
I currently approach the reading in the course very cautiously. When reading any of the material in or out of class, I take my time. It is important to do so because by going to quick, there is a chance of missing some of the material. By reading slowly I can assure myself that I have better chance of taking in more information. Also by removing myself from any distractions, I can concentrate harder on the things that I am reading. Preparing for my reading sessions in advance helps to optimize my chance of greater concentration on my reading materials.…
Because people who follow the process of solitary learn, they can tend to waste their time on a problem they can’t solve a difficult or challenging problem before looking for help or assistance. Learning this way can be very effective. Doing stuff on my own is very helpful and impactful to me because working alone teaches me to be responsible, and to get my work done when it needs to be done. If you're this kind of learner then you pry get along with teachers well and they probably take you seriously and know you work hard for the grade you.…
The best process of doing the assigned readings for homework is to previewing the section for important titles, diagrams and pictures. Marking definitions, examples, enumerations, and emphasis words (488) to remember to go over these important terms of the assignment as you read. After re-reading, areas where there are markings, provide your personal notes of understanding the topic, to further you knowledge and to perceive a more in-depth look to the subject. Finally the most important aspect of textbook study is to flat out study, By now you paid attention in class lectures, took the knowledge and furthered through with your research on it, and set out the times to further through with the…

Reading everything in a chapter could take a while and be boreing. Skimming through chapters could help and save time. By reading the chapter titele, first two paragraphs, last two paragraphs, major headings and major heading pararaphs will give you the main idea of the chapter. What to look for in books- Math: Formulas and equations Science: Laws, terms, formula and principals Social studies: Terms and concepts. These are some ways to skim…
Skim the textbook first, even though the assignment is on a set page, skim trough the chapter, look at titles, sub titles, heading, pictures, first and last paragraphs to get a general idea of the topic and as a result put you in a better place to answer the question. Take notes on what you are studying. The idea is to summarize the main idea so it's much easier to make reference to weather studying for a test or doing an assignment. Review after you've read and take notes.…
*THE perceived* EFFECT *OF *studying i*n a proposed study café on th*e effectiveness and efficiency of* studying as well as in the development of study habits* of UPV CM students Background of the Study For many that embark on college education, the task can be quite daunting. The intellectual and practical challenge of obtaining a degree cannot be underestimated even among those who are dedicated students. To find the time to study outside the classroom can be difficult for several reasons. Students, especially those living in dormitories, or shared rooms, often have difficulties finding some quiet time to concentrate before exams. There are also cases wherein in a group of students wouldn’t have a place to assemble to do their school requirements. Students from UPV CM and neighboring schools are often faced with these dilemmas thus; Study Cafés can be established to help combat these problems. A study café can be an alternative venue for learning and studying outside the walls of the school. It can contain cubicles for individual students who need the quietness for private study. These can be good for students preparing to take examinations, board reviewers, and nursing students who are doing their hospital requirements. A bigger room can also be provided for group discussion or for making group projects. In addition to these, additional facilities can also be provided for the use of students such as computers and wireless internet. Food and basic school supplies can also be bought there.
