Although stupidity and ignorance may seem very similar, they are very different. Ignorance is the unwillingness to evolve whereas stupidity is the inability to evolve. Today technology is a key aspect in everyday living. It is a necessity to have even the basic knowledge of computers. In order to get a job today, it isn’t uncommon to be asked to fill out an online application. Many people oppose to this because they are unaware how to do so and refuse to even fill out the application. Not knowing how to fill out the application makes a person technologically impaired. They do possess the knowledge needed in order to fulfill the task. Even when given the steps needed to successfully complete their task, an uneducated person would not be able to comprehend the directions. Thus be considered a person of stupidity. When one simply refuses to fill out an application online due to their fear of technology, they are unwilling to change their lifestyle. Although this could give them an opportunity to better their lives by obtaining a job, their ignorance holds them back from succeeding. Paper applications are nearly extinct and the unwillingness to accept technology is actually complicating peoples lives more difficult. These applications are short multiple-choice questions that could be completed in minutes. Many people reject this minor task and do not even come close to being able to grasp the major technological advances and their benefits. Stupidity versus ignorance is a controversial topic.
