Stuttering is a speaking disorder in which the flow of someone speaking is broken by either repetition, continuations or abnormal stops (in which the person is not able to produce any sound). There can also be unusual facial expressions or unusual body movements during the effort needed to speak. About 70 million people in the world stutter, which is about 1% of the world population.
Although the precise causes of stuttering are not yet known. There are four main theories that are likely to cause the development of stuttering. For instance stuttering therapy. This treatment will differ, based upon a person’s age, communication goals, and other factors. Many of the current therapies for teens and adults who stutter focus on ways to make them stutter less frequently, by for example talk more slowly or have breathing pauses. There is also a drug therapy. Although the U.S. food and drug administration (U.S. FDA) has not accepted any medicine for the treatment of stuttering. There are medicines that are accepted to treat stuttering which treat other health problems ,such as epilepsy, anxiety, or depression. In a recent study, researchers found out that drug therapy has generally been unsuccessful in treating stuttering. Currently there are scientific researches under way to find other possible medical treatments . There also are electronic devices to treat stuttering. Some people who stutter use these electronic devices to help control their fluency. With some people, electronic devices help improve fluency in a relatively short period of time. However, people still doubt about how these effects last and whether people are able to easily use these device real-world situations . Researchers are still studying the long-term effects of these devices. Lastly you have self-help groups. Many people find that they achieve most success by using a combination of self-study and therapy. Self-help groups offer a way
