I would apply Person centered therapy in the practice of recovery coaching. Person Centered therapy suggests that any client, no matter what the problem or dilemma they are facing, can improve without being taught anything specific by the therapist, once the client accepts and respects themselves (Shaffer, 1978). The resources all lie within the client. The counselor must enter into the client's unique phenomenological world. By mirroring this world, the counselor does not contradict (Shaffer, 1978), nor do they attempt to delve into the unconscious. The focus is on immediate conscious experience. This is a therapy of freeing a person and removing obstacles so that normal growth and development can proceed and the client can become independent and move forward in their life own their…

The methods of practice differ in each situation, but they are similar in preparation. Practitioners must first make an evaluation or assessment of their client. This process take’s patience and practitioners must be able to listen actively to their client with no distractions and without any preconceived notions of what the speaker is saying (Martin, 2007, p. 47). After a practitioner makes a clinical assessment, they can decide on what intervention strategy to use with a client. The Task-Centered Approach is an example of one intervention strategy that a counselor may use. This strategy helps clients who think they are powerless over simple challenges caused by psychosocial problems and allows counselors help define these challenges and set small, agreed upon goals with clients to help them increase self-esteem (Martin, 2007, p. 55). Reframing is another intervention strategy. This strategy helps clients look at the different perspectives of a situation instead of only the negative. Sometimes people hesitate to act on a situation because of the viewpoint that it will always result in a negative outcome. An opposite approach to this strategy would be emotional regulation. Some people do not…

The author of this paper was able to diagnose Kyle’s conditions; however, there was a fair amount of ambiguity that would need to be explored. Based on the author’s assessment, Kyle suffers from PTSD (APA, 2013; Yarvis, 2013); however, issues of complexity and comorbidity would need to be further explored and diagnosed. Furthermore, due to the nature of roadside bombs’ possible compressive qualities and the ‘snap and back’ motion of a round striking his Kevlar helmet, it would be safe to say that Kyle would have suffered at least a mild TBI (Boyd & Asmussen, 2013; Hoge et al., 2008). Furthermore, since substance abuse within the American Sniper film was episodic in nature, one cannot definitively diagnose if Kyle suffered from Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).…

They also have the responsibility to report domestic abuse, and abuse of the elderly. Mandated reporters are required to make a report right away either orally, in person, or by email, and they must follow through with a written report in 72 hours.
