The Key Element to Succeed
“Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failure.” said Earl Wilson, the pitcher of Boston Red Sox. Some people may agree with this quote; however, others think that it is the result of hard work. I would suggest that success results from hard work supported by luck.
Firstly, before giving any argument about how success is achieved, it is necessary to mention that success is viewed differently in the eyes of everyone. This is because success means doing what you have always wanted to do as well as being where you have always wanted to be. For example, one can feel success after forming a happy family; as well as others can feel success after completing a project or after getting an “A” in a test. Success basically means being happy with what you are doing in your life.
Secondly, some people affirm that the key element to succeed is hard work. By hard work, they mean being passionate and perseverant for very long-term goals. Perseverance means to define a personal goal, stick our future, and work hard day by day, month by month for years, being willing to fail, to be wrong and to start over again in order to make that future a reality. In other words, success is built little by little and step by step.
Opponents of the idea that success is built through hard work claim that it does not matter how much you work for achieving something, a goal is reached depending on your luck. For example, a poorly prepared exam may be postponed because the professor had a stroke minutes before the exam; or maybe you have worked a lot to get a promotion at work and your car runs off battery on the way to the job promotion interview. SO?
To conclude, I believe that success is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. Personally, I think that luck appears in the form of chance and we should work hard to boost that chance and end in success.
