SUDSY SOAP Case Study
1-Scheduling Problems. A-Lead time:
First of all; Starting date of this partnership wasn't mentioned; however; assume we are in month of June; According to the proposal the promotion will start by October 5th so prior to this date they should be ready with Soap and dishes taking into consideration that delivery time of Soap varies between 6 to 43 days.
But if we were in September for example; they won't be able to meet this lead time.
In addition to; the delivery time of dishes this was not mentioned.

B- Picking and Packing: they need to take into account the packing time to make these packages specially that Dishes are fragile so they will need a special packing.

2-packaging problems: ▪ Dishes will need a special packing because they are fragile; so they might need special upgraded material for packing to avoid having broken dishes. ▪ Labeling : they will need special labels marked with "Fragile Products". ▪ More time will be needed due to this special packing.

3- Product liability is: "the area of law in which manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retailers, and others who make products available to the public are held responsible for the injuries those products cause"; in addition to this; product liability is the defect that might occur for any product. According to (Melvin, 2011) “Products liability refers to the liability of any seller (including the manufacturer, retailer, and any intermediary seller such as a wholesaler) of a product that, because of a defect, causes harm to a consumer.” (P.226). Sally could argue BUGusa were negligent by not including the insulation needed on the equipment just to save on production costs. However, a more appealing option for Sally to pursue would be a strict liability tort because she doesn’t need to prove the elements of negligence. Sally could argue that BUGusa are strictly liable for her injuries because they placed a product on the market without insulation and she was injured as a…

Bar soap is seemingly such an unassuming everyday household item. However it isn’t as simple as it may appear. For example, Dove soap is made up of sodium cocoylisethionate, stearic acid, coconut acid, and sodium tallowate. In addition, water, sodium isethionate, sodium stearate, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium cocoate or palm kernelate, fragrance, sodium chloride, BHT and titanium dioxide are also used. Now, the once ordinary bar of soap seems so much more complex. To my surprise, many women around the world see a bar of Dove soap even more complex than that. The Dove campaign for Real beauty has inspired many women to think far more critically about something that they would normally not think much about. Since 2004 Dove has tried, “…to celebrate the natural physical variation embodied by all women and inspire them to have the confidence to be comfortable with themselves.”(Dove) Dove has launched a variety of advertisements, video, workshops, and sleepover events to 11 million women throughout the country.…

Privity under English common law does not apply to third party members who are not involved in the original agreement. It only covers the relationship between the parties in the contract agreement. This applies to consumers who purchase the product from a retailer who buys it from the manufacturer. Since the manufacturer is not a part of the original agreement, they are not liable for any damages that the consumer has about the defective product. They can only be liable if the consumer bought the goods from the manufacturer directly. If the consumers did not buy the goods directly from the manufacturer, then the manufacturer would be considered a third party. This is under the privity doctrine.…
