Sultan Rahi real name was Sultan Muhammad Born in year 1938. He was a famous Pakistani Punjabi Actor. He worked in almost 813 films in which 700 approx was Punjabi and 100 above were Urdu films. He is the only to achieve such success in Punjabi films and to be in Guinness book of World records. Sultan Rahi belonged to a Urdu speaking family. He struggled in his early career in film industry but after 1972 the days turned for him and he becomes the Punjabi Film Star. From 1972 to 1975 he achieved great success and become the icon for the Punjabi Films Lovers. His most famous and successful Film was Maula Jutt in 1979, other famous movies include Sher Khan, Kaley Chor, The GodFather and Chan Veryam.
Sultan Rahi did Villan role in most of his movies and was famous for doing Villan character. His style of acting was very unique and the typical Punjabi touch in his acting made his very popular in Punjabi gentry. Sultan Rahi is the only actor who appeared in diamond jubilee movies as Hero and Villan both. Sultan Rahi first proper appearance was in film Dil aur Dunia in 1971 atlhough he did an extra character in film Baghi in 1959. Sultan Rahi was also nominated and awarded for Nigar Award for his 3 movies Babul, Basheera and Weshi Jatt. In year 1996 he appeared in his last movie Sakhi Badsha. There is a list of successful movies in which he has performed and got many awards. His most famous Film Maula Jutt was prepared with just Rs. 600,000 budget and did the business of Rs. 600,000,000, such big business of average film is still record in Pakistan.
Sultan Rahi is one of the legends of our country who will always live in the heart of people. He died on 9 Jan 1996, he was shot dead on the main highway of Pakistan known as GT Road, Gujranwala, Punjab. His murder is still a conspiracy and no progress has been reported on his murder until now, Pakistani film industry lost a legend in only age of 58 (1938-1996).
