Neonatologist take care of new born babies. Such as premature, ill or seriously ill new born that would be in the NICU. They are “masters or [doctorally] prepared advanced practice nurse who provides advanced nursing care to neonates up to two years of age in a variety of clinical settings” ("Neonatal Nurse Practitioner."). There are many different levels in the neonatal field such as level one being just taking care of healthy infants. These days now it has started to decrease because if they are healthy they are more likely to be in the room with their mothers. Level two on the other hand the nurses are having to be more in demand because at this level they are dealing with premature and sick babies and they need more attention. Lastly level…
It’s amazing how much time is given to elder care but without it many older adults would suffer. With the number of older Americans growing there is an increase need for care but the appropriate funding is required on both ends financially and more support and education is need among staff and administration to actually supply the proper essentials to the aging population. Being a CNA goes beyond caring for sick patients and keeping their patients healthy in a variety of setting as Ai-Jen Poo mentioned in the audio interview incorporating those attributes of dignity and value into the work and allowing the geriatric population to be surrounded by love care and connection is vital to getting older. Nursing aides are the backbone of these health…
What career would you like to pursue as you get older? I personally would like to become a Neonatal nurse practitioner. A NNP just seems like a great job and it could be worth my while.…
Because, their are little ones waiting on you. They can't make it without your help. The life of little kids in need are completely dependant on NICU nurses. Despite the challenges of seeing little ones struggling, it is a great career. You truly get to see when you're making a difference in someone's life. You get to see the progress and feel great about it. You get to see the joy on the parent's face when they get to hear the good news. You get the privilege of watching parents get many of their firsts, such as, holding their newborn for the first time, changing their diaper for the first time, and cute little memories that to parents of healthy children may seem very small. But, to the particular parents these little memories mean more than anything to them. They will never forget the nurse that helped make their dreams come…
I hope to be a neonatal nurse. To aspire this goal, I will attend a four year college that offers pre-med opportunities as well as access to early internships. After graduation, I plan to apply to a med school in Oregon or California. The reason I plan to be a neonatal nurse has to do with the fact I want to make a change in someone's life. When I was eight years old, my baby brother was born premature due to the use of drugs. He was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for three months. He is now ten years old and has a weak immune system. My aunt, who is like a mother to me, had a checkup a week prior to her due date and found out that her baby had lost four pounds. My baby cousin is now nine months old and healthy. Seeing these kids…
A neonatal nurse is one who subspecializes in working with newborn infants who are born with problems like birth defects, infections, being premature, surgical problems, and cardiac malformations. They embrace these infants who deal with these problems shortly after birth as well as their long-term problems they may have to deal with. Most neonatal nurses only care for the infant until they are discharged from the hospital, but some may care for them up until age two.…
I cannot believe it is senior year! Where did the time go? I remember my first day of ninth grade like it was yesterday. High school has flown by so quickly, it is crazy to think at the end of this school year I will be out of school. I will be the first person to graduate in my family since my grandma did fifty years ago. I have to start thinking about what I am going to major in during college and the type of career I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life, or until retirement. What should I do now? What do I need to do to get there at this point in time? For a few years now, I have been considering a career in neonatal nursing or a career in pediatric psychology. As of today, I think that a career as a neonatal nurse practitioner would be better suited for me.…
In my future I plan on being a neonatal nurse. A neonatal nurse is a nurse that works with babies as soon as they are born. There are many ways that technology can help and hinder my future plans. Technology is taking becoming a more active part of American culture. I just hope it doesn’t completely take over my job, but I will take advantage of the help it provides. I will also also understand that technology may hinder my plans.…

I have no idea how you can handle working in the NICU. In some ways, I can understand it being extremely gratifying being able to help those babies. However, I cannot imagine myself doing that job, if feel like it would be too much on me mentally. These little guys depend on others; they do not choose what happens to me. I think that is what gets me about these patients. I find myself really impressed that you are not only willing to this job, but seem as if you are thriving at this job. I can see you making a real difference going into that job. Keep up all the good…
Families in Crisis We as NICU nurses are given a very difficult task of caring for the most fragile population…as well as ministering to the most vulnerable families in the hospital.
