Linda Brown, her parents and all those other people who were involved in fighting for the African American’s rights to go to school with White Americans near their homes, are the true heroes. I am grateful that I was able to go to school with mixed races and experience the cultural diversity. I was able to do so because of the true heroes that led the way to free education to all no matter what your race, color of your skin, and culture is. The Civil Rights Movement was necessary to assist our nation in its progression and growth. I am not a personal fan of former President Lyndon B. Johnson, but I am happy he signed the Civil Rights Act and ended Segregation. I look at the country now and I may not agree with what the current government feels is right for education, but I do know that whatever the current law is it does not segregate and includes all students living in America. I work at a school where a lot of the students are Mexican American’s. I watch and observe how some of them are eager to come to school to learn and earn an education. Watching this section of the video, I was again emotional. I can’t imagine how hard it was for these students to earn their education. I am just grateful my student’s don’t have to go through what the students in the past had
