In the book Matched, by Ally Condie, seventeen-year-old Cassia Reyes is Matched, or assigned to their soul mate, to Xander, her best friend, in a world that seems like a utopia. When she sees a picture of her Match on her data card, another face shows, one that the government says is a malfunction.
