An engineering champion for Christ will possess the ability to thrive during his academic career and to improve his engineering problem solving capabilities. He will have a deep understanding of the engineering problems he will encounter in the real world. Through the application of the concepts and theories he has been presented with during his academic career, he will be able to solve the problems he will be faced with as an engineer. He will embrace the concepts and theories taught in class and apply the ideas to the problems he will be faced with. By realizing that he needs to better understand a certain concept, he can then seek out the help of professors and other individuals on the best way to attain the knowledge he needs. Since he will need to take classes to better understand the engineering, he needs to understand the best way to learn and the methods by which the class is taught. He understands his preferred learning method. He knows the difference between inductive and deductive learning and which one applies to himself. If the class he is taking does not use his preferred learning method, then he uses his preferred learning when he studies to fully grasp the material he is being presented with. Since studying requires him to comprehend the material on a deeper level, he will apply the critical thinking idea and think about his thinking while he is thinking to ensure that he is studying in the most efficient way possible. To improve my critical thinking skills, I will need to begin by applying them to a single topic to understand how to think critically and then begin to focus on applying them to other areas of study and life. Next, I need to focus on improving my study habits. Currently, I am easily distracted studying at home. To study more effectively, I will need to eliminate distractions and find an area in the house which is quiet and allows for me to focus on learning the material I am presented. Finally, I need to set aside time to have my degree completion plan review by others. I have found that my time will easily be consumed with school without having accomplished the task of having a professor review my degree completion plan. To prevent procrastination, I need to plan on going to a professor at a certain time and have him or her review my degree completion plan. Overall, I need to take steps towards more effectively learning the material I am presented with and seek the advice of others in the field of engineering to help lay out my graduation
