She took her time to explain how she was feeling without sounding angry. She is demonstrating a “wife” by not losing her mind and not raising her voice when she is explaining what she does at home. Wives are expected to not lose their mind and always stay calm and keep their patience no matter what the situation is but the husband is allowed to get angry if he’s not pleased. Her mood was happy but insecure. Brady said, “But here’s the thing, I enjoy it”, she is saying that she doesn’t mind fulfilling her roles as a wife and is showing the audience that she is happy with what she has to do as a wide and there is nothing wrong with that. She does seem a little insecure by when she said “I failed at being a wife”, generally speaking a lot of people would say that it is normal for a female to feel insecure and need a little reassurance once in awhile. The tone for the advertisement was challenging by the way they said “Are you Man Enough”. The purpose of his tone was to make the men retaliate in a way back because men tend to like being the dominant or alpha one so when they feel challenged they do something about it such as proving the other person wrong or defeating them. The author did this in order to appeal to the audience directly. The author’s purpose was to persuade females that it is ok to take on wife roles and with her telling her story directly and providing the difference with her friends, it makes it more realistic for her target audience and she has a better chance at fulfilling her purpose. If it was a story being told by someone else of a different purpose you would get the impression that the story could’ve been altered. In the advertisement, the structure was just straightforward, it didn’t have many words or pictures which enhances the author’s purpose, to recruit more men into the nursing career. If the author would have put too many words he would lost the attraction of men because men are lazy and don’t like to read word by word. When the author only put men, it is showing the dominance that men have and it attracts the audience a lot quicker if they enjoy being the alpha one.
