Summary Of Bullies By Jonny Fazio
An overweight boy has to contend with bullies as he tries to lose weight to adopt a dog.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS
Jonny Fazio (11) is a short pudgy boy, who lives with his parents and his younger sister, Maria (6). His parents enable his bad eating habits.
At school, he must contend with three bullies, Steve the Peeve, Pete the Cheat and Liz in Your Biz. He tries to avoid them at all cost, but he doesn’t have very good luck. They normally find him, tease him, and even beat him up.
Brenda is also overweight and is willing to befriend Jonny, but he also tries to avoid her because he thinks he’ll be made fun of if he’ seen with her. However, when she tells him about the animal shelter needing someone to walk the dogs, Jonny is very interested. He’s always wanted a dog.

However, the teasing continues. When he’s beat up, Jonny tells his parents that he’s teased about his weight. They try to help him, but they fail.
A health school organization called Fitwize 4 Kids introduces their program at his school.
Jonny and Brenda are motivated. They begin to eat better and Jonny involves his parents. Jonny writes his goals down and makes a deal with his parents. If he loses 15 pounds he can adopt Shadow. Jonny also teams up with Brenda to petition the school for a healthier cafeteria.
Still fearing the bullies, Jonny comes up with idea. He invites the bullies to help and they form an unlikely alliance.
Jonny begins to lose weight and prepares to adopt Shadow.
