Summary Of College Pressures By William Zinnser
The article, College Pressures by William Zinnser, was relatable. Zinnser explains how college students experience economic pressure, parental pressure, peer pressure, and self-induced pressure. In my case the pressure that I have felt the most was self-induced. Throughout this whole semestester there was a sense that I was not doing my best. Assignments felt like an anxiety attack because I was paranoid over the quality of my work. There were times where I felt that my classmates were doing better work then I was. Also, I tried to keep in mind that I was trying to get back into the mindset of being in a school environment. Towards the end of the article I like how Zinnser explains that everyone is an individual and that life is all about

    “College Pressures” by William Zinsser is about how college students are so worried about getting perfect grades, and under so much pressure to succeed. The article starts off with notes from anxiety filled students asking for advice from the dean of Branford College at Yale University. It only gives a few examples of the hundreds of messages that are sent to the dean asking for advice and help. This panic among students does not only occur at Branford College but at many colleges and universities across the country. Zinsser is also sought out for advice by the students of Branford; he is an English instructor at Yale University and the master of Branford College. He is close with many of the residents of the Gothic quadrangle, the resident hall where he also lives by.
