The author’s challenging of other historical viewpoints is how the law million years ago affects the law today.
Today not much have changed afters decades ago, today we are still ruled by a leader, we are either in the hands of a king, queen or like in America by our president Donald Trump and including the government. Slavery was common back then and it still continues today around the world. Something has changed, we do have more rights than the natives. Including us women, we are more free. Back then women were not allowed to work, they were just allow to take care for their children's and do household. Today women could have the privilege to pursue a career of their choice. Even Though today's society is still fighting for even more rights for women. For example a higher paid, so womans are still even standing up for their beliefs as they did millions years
ago.
The evidence that the author utilized throughout his article was primary sources such as old diaries like Pennsylvania Magazine Concessions, and Original Constitutions of New Of History and Biography by Hannah Callender that was published the year of 1888. The author gather his part of information from her diary on page 436. According to John M. Murrin works cited, when Hannah wrote the diary she visiting a college. She probably wrote about her college journey I assume and how she was meeting new people. A letter I found while reading this was selected letters by Cotton Mather, he wrote these on July 3, 1716. I think that Cotton Mather have wrote his personal life and how he felt about animals being mistreated by these horrible people at this time period. A section in the bible that the article used to be able to write his journal article was called The Old Testament by (Leviticus 20: 13, 15-16). According to Leviticus, he wrote in the bible if a man and a beast are seen together both of them should be killed but if a woman and a beast are seen together both of them should be killed. I believe that the authors might got hands of these sources by digging at these old places that the Europeans and the Natives used to live at. The old letters and diaries might have belong to these people at this time and also he probably read information about their religion, what the Natives and the Europeans believed in. In the textbook a image that was interesting to me was on page 463, by analyzing this it shows a picture of a structure of a lion next to a man. This might have been a sight of loving animals. And there is also a another man at the right corner, it looks like he is running, he might have been running to accuse him for this reason.
What I personally dislike about this article is that I found this to be depressing and horrible. Personality I hated this article but I do give a lot of credit to John M. Murrin. He did a amazing job on writing this. There is excellent information what these people at this time we're doing and how they felt towards this. What I enjoy about his work is that he informed his audience what others things were happening aside from already mistreating each other, which is something I will never guess that this was actually based on today's history. What I believe that the author could have done to make his work stronger is that he could have added images. Images are interesting to look at and could have made the audience awake, it was about forty pages long. I also recommend that he could have added images because it makes the article much more easier to understand what was going on in the time period. In general I recommend this article to grownups because these group of people are mature enough to understand what was happening throughout this time period. Also they are more knowledgeable about our world history and have a well more understanding on this than children. In the other hand childrens are still small and have a lot to learn and develop from still, so I believe that they will not be able to handle this article at all until they are at least nineteen years of age.
Today this article contributes on understanding the history of the United States back then and now because in today's society we are still victims of harming animals. We test medications that are being invented by our scientist to be able to found a cure to cancer and many more of others illnesses. For example animals are still being risk, we give drugs first to poor animals to heal diseases before giving them to humans. In some cases today we abuse animals such as our pet dogs. Also rats and hamsters in general are killed in most cases, they are murdered because we found them disgusting. This article also helps me understand how men and women were treated unfairly due to slavery which it has improved today. But today women are still less respected than men in our society. An example of an article that supports this is called Beauty and the Bestiality by Jia Tolentino, this article was published on March 27, 2017 and it was also based on our famous movie “Beauty and the Beast”. This supports the authors point because a beauty and a beast are not meant to be together. In the article by Jia it talks about how a scene in the movie came to rescue Bell from the beast. Gaston fought the beast and shoot him to be able just to marry the beauty of Bell. But luckily for Gaston, the beast came back to live just by a simply sights of true love kiss which wake up the beast from his sleep. This is why I believe that these two articles are relate to each other.
