When I first saw this book the whole cover of it made me read the back. It is vibrant and it drags you in before you even think about it. On the front cover of the book it says “ Life Goes On Until It Doesn't “and I think that is definitely what the book talk about. I think the author did a hands down great job at putting the book together with all different aspects of life in it. The author, Robyn Schneider, created this story so that whoever reads it can be put in any of the character’s position, and live that life. That is exactly what she did she put me into this world where I have total-drug-resistant tuberculosis, and I have to live my best life at that moment in time. Extraordinary means is not a story of being sick and dealing with it. It is a story of having second chances, and what it means to have courage and strength that you’ll figure out your place in the world, and by every means you will get there. If I could talk to the author, I would say thank you for getting me back into reading. I have never read a more heartfelt but courageous book and I am certainly glad I had the chance of reading this one. I would not want to change one thing about the book. I just wish that this book was apart of a series because I am devastated the way it ended. I would recommend this book to anyone, this book makes me feel like anybody could relate to it. My favorite quote from this book would have to be “My miracle wasn't a cure. It was a second chance. But second chances aren’t forever. And even miracles have an expiration date.” (Schneider 314) I feel like that quote puts the whole book into perspective. It means you should live in the moment, and you might get second chances but don't count on

In the novel Deadly by Julie Chibbaro readers view how a disease is passed around by an Irish cook named Mary Mallon. Some debate that Mary was merely an innocent victim and the Department of Health and Sanitation were the real villains for claiming a random disease on a woman. Others believe she wasn’t able to accept this new change and accept the fact that she does have tuberculosis. For this essay Mary will be portrayed as the villain because of her ignorance, disobedience, and ability to not accept the new technology. Mary’s ignorance was a major problem.…

From its use of symbolism to the life lesson. Jeannette Walls told her story in a unique way and it made me feel different emotion. After reading about what Jeannette and her siblings had to go through, made me think about my life. Personally, it made me grateful for having a family that provides me a shelter and treats me well. Of course, we all have ups and downs, but it just so hard to believe what she went through. And how she manages to stay strong and positive, when others can easily give up. I highly recommend this book to everyone, as if it can change your perspective on…

As far as a critique for this book goes, I cannot say much that I would change. While the story was at times slow, that is to be expected with a narrative that describes real life accounts. I personally did not enjoy the book as much as I thought I would, the reason for this is because I am not a fan of the style…

If I were to change anything in the book I would have changed the ending. When it ended right in the middle of action I was very mad. I really wanted to know what happened next and just wanted to just continue on with the book. The story did end the way I expected. At the end it ended with a huge cliff hanger. So far there hasn’t been another book and it has been 5 years since it came out. The story didn’t end the way I expected. I thought the ending would have ended with Zach fighting the Bad and destroying their organization. Instead the book ends with Zach saving Senator Kerrigan's life, and Mr. Herbert taking one of the bullets and dying. I can relate to being a student athlete. Zach is a very smart and does well in school, and is a very good athlete who a variety of sports at his…

The experiences of an individual have the ability to immensely affect and shape their character, life and ultimately, their whole future. Geraldine Brooks' novel, 'Year of Wonders' shows us that catastrophe and disasters can lead people to change in many ways, sometimes revealing their true identity. Following an outbreak of the plague, the villagers in Eyam, a small town in England, make the difficult decision to quarantine themselves and block their connections with the outside world. This story is followed through the eyes of Anna Frith, a single mother of two boys, who in the end, emerges as the unlikely hero of the novel.…

This book was very good but I think that if I was added in, in two different parts to change something it would end up better. I would change the beginning when michael was being bullied when his powers went off. If I was added in I would stop that from happening I would run out and right before it happens tell them to stop so that they don't question him. If I did change that I would make sure to change somewhere in the story so that taylor knows that Michael likes him and knows his powers.…

I chose this piece of literature because it follows the life line of a woman from her childhood to her adulthood. By reading the story, we’re able to observe her maturity from a young näive girl into a knowledgeable, mature woman. As well as a complete life line we ultimately have a window into her mind. We are able to know exactly what Janie feels and the way she thinks; it ties us into her journey of maturing from a young girl to a woman. These themes could definitely be tied into my life. One major theme of this book is Janie’s search for happiness and companionship. I can tie this into my life. I don’t like being alone very much; it makes me think about situations and subjects that I would rather not think of, and it puts me in an extremely awkward place. Having companionship could mean being with my sister for as long as I’d like, or being with a friend. Either way, having someone to talk to is very comforting, as I can release my mind and let it wander. Everyone is looking for happiness. I don’t think there’s one person in this world who doesn’t want to be happy. Janie’s happiness is being able to be free and interact with whomever she’d like. Her dream is similar to mine. I want to be free to make my own decisions and choose what I’d like to do; I don’t want to obey one person and do anything and everything he wants, as Jody did with Janie.…
