Summary Of Going To Buy A Book By Rukmini Banerji
For my contemporary realistic fiction story, I decided to read Going to Buy a Book by Rukmini Banerji. This is a story about a grandfather giving his grandchildren money to buy a book. The style of writing and the illustrations would make this book appealing to children. The style of writing is simple and very easy to understand for children. Also, I think the style of writing would remind children of how their grandparents speak. They could relate the way the narrator speaks to their grandparents speaking. The illustrations in the book would make the book appealing to children especially in the south because of the colors and the way the people are drawn. It has pictures of cotton fields and farmland. The colors in the book also represent the narrator’s mood and what event was going on in her life.…

Through out this novel, a lot of tragic and powerful events transpire. They make the reader think quite a bit on what they have just read and after this, you tend to react. These events and occurrences are the main idea behind the story and they continue to constantly grab your attention and you keep you focused on what is going on in the novel. However, too many big impact and negative events take away from the story and it's traditional role of focusing on one major element through out the book. The reader is ceased of time to actually think about what has just happened, before something else suddenly does.…

Don’t you want us children to read at higher levels? Would you want us to read the Cat in the Hat or the Tell-Tale Heart? The Tell-Tale Heart is an engaging and interesting story ( in my opinion ) about a crazed man who plots to murder an old man because of his eye. I know it sounds inappropriate, but trust me, many middle and high schoolers around the country read this, so why can’t we? I believe the Tell-Tale Heart is appropriate for my age group, because it teaches kids my age to be more mature about these kind of situations.…

My second reason that I like the book is because it lets me make my own mind movie and I can create and design my own characters and it had no pictures so it was really easy to imagine my own things. Aims: The aim of this assignment is to demonstrate and plan a story to read to a group of children aged 2 and half to 4. I chose this age group because this is the group I work with on a daily bases from 9:30 to 12:30 five days a week. I am picking a story called “Oh Dear” by Rod Campbell who is a Scottish writer and illustrator of several popular children's books including the classic lift-the-flap board book “Dear Zoo”. As it is a story that helps the children with learning the different animals on the farm and also encourages the children to use their imaginations as they lift up the different flaps in the book to see what is behind them. Which Maria Montessori says “Imaginative teaching materials are the heart of the process”. All of Rod Campbell’s “books have simple text often with repeating phrases which is ideal for pre-readers” and will also Help the children with langue and intellectual skills. “The child proceeds at his own pace in an environment controlled to provide means of learning” -Maria Montessori. this book also helps the children physically as they have to get up to lift up the flaps on the book “movement is therefore the essential of life education cannot be conceived of ad a means to moderate or worse to inhibit movement; it should only function as an aid to a better expenditure of energy whilst allowing it to develop normally” -Maria Montessori pg 102 discovery of a child. “The aim of the children who persevere in their work with an object is certainly not to “learn”; they are drawn to it by the needs of their inner life, which must be recognized and developed by its means.” – Maria Montessori pg 120 discovery of a child. To develop their attention spans…
