The short story,”Helen on 86th Street” by Wendi Kaufman, tells the story of a girl named Vita. She lives in an apartment with her mom, hoping that her father will come back after he left 3 years ago. Later in the short story, Vita shows she does want to see her father again, which is hard because he seems to be on his own adventure. Vita is then later declined to play the role of Helen of Troy in the school play Because Helen was more beautiful than she was.
