I think that in this story, it makes it clearly how lazy and selfish Arnie is and how kind and hard worker José is. In the story José asks Arnie, about his part in the team and his says “ Shoot,I’ll round up all kinds of jobs for you. You won’t have to do anything. Except-you know- do the work.(86)” In here Arnie demonstrate how lazy he is to work and how selfish he is that wants José to work alone. Also, when Arnie and José went to spray paint for a job they had to do, in the story it says “ While Arnie accompanied him, most of the time he did nothing.
