Dr. Adler once wrote an article that would be very useful to students for their near future on having a better understanding of their readings. The article “How to Mark a Book” published in 1941 is still of some use to studious persons. Marking a book is one of the many ways someone can have a better understanding of what they read. Writing notes and questions popping through one’s mind whilst reading an article on atomic fusion or the new IPhone or Samsung device will help in the engraving into the mind what the article was really about, it really is the best understanding one can get as far as reading could go. There are two ways to own a book, the first is “the property right…paying for it” and the second is by “making yourself a part of it by writing in it” (Adler, 1).
