One of the method that I understand and can rather agree and disagree with is clutter. I would have to say that all clutter is not necessarily a bad writing choice. However, it should be used appropriately. In his book, he stated how clutter is mainly used to make things sound more important or do throw some one of, such as many corporations use it. In these cases a corporation should be more direct and avoid the “numerous” attempt in trying to hide things. In other cases, I believe clutter is good for example when writing a piece of poetry or describing something such a scenery. When writing either of these and someone is being too direct it takes aways from its richness of how nicely it sounds or how it makes one feel from understanding it. Throughout the book, I felt as though he was going from one idea to another on how one should make one their writing style. He went from just be original, do not write something if you would not say it. To towards then end saying how one should find their writing style by mimicking some great authors writing style and eventually shedding it out to create their own writing style. When the author brings these two points out i'm not quite sure to what he is leaning too. I do not really understand how he expects originality from mimicking other
